Alright, let’s talk about these bangboos in ZZZ. When I first started playing, I honestly didn’t pay them much mind. Just slapped whatever looked cool onto my agents and went with it. Seemed like just another gear slot, you know?
But then I hit a wall. Some stages just felt way harder than they should’ve. My damage felt kinda weak, survivability was iffy. So, I figured I had to dig deeper. Started actually reading what these little guys do.

My First Attempts – Total Mess
Initially, I just threw the highest rarity ones I had on everyone. Got a shiny S-rank bangboo? Boom, equipped. Didn’t matter if it was for attack on a support character or defense on my main damage dealer. Yeah, didn’t work out great. Things felt… disjointed. Like the team wasn’t working together properly.
I spent a good chunk of time just swapping them around randomly. Tried matching elements, thought maybe that was the secret sauce. Nope. Then I tried matching their supposed roles – like putting the attack buffer bangboo on my buffer character. Seemed logical, right? Still felt kinda underwhelming.
Digging into the Details
That’s when I decided to actually sit down and really look at them. I started farming the different types, even the lower A-rank ones. Pulled up the character screen, the bangboo screen, back and forth, back and forth. Read every single skill description. It was tedious, I won’t lie.
Here’s what I noticed:
- Some bangboos have skills that trigger based on what the agent does.
- Others have skills that help the whole team.
- And some are just passive stat sticks, but their active skills can be clutch.
The big realization for me was that the “best” bangboo isn’t just about its own stats or rarity. It’s about how it syncs with the specific agent’s kit AND the rest of the team.
Finding What Works (For Me)
So, I started experimenting properly. Took my main team – let’s say a core damage dealer, a sub-DPS/breaker, and a support/healer.

For my main damage dealer, I stopped just looking for pure attack buffs. I looked for bangboos that either amplified their specific damage type (like physical or fire) or offered crowd control/utility that let them attack more freely. Found one little guy, an A-rank even, whose active skill pulled enemies together. Suddenly my AoE attacks were hitting everything! Huge difference.
For the support, I realized raw healing numbers weren’t everything. A bangboo that provided energy recharge for the team, or one that applied a defense debuff on enemies, actually helped more in the long run than just a slightly bigger heal. It made the whole team cycle their abilities faster and hit harder.
And for the breaker/sub-DPS, finding a bangboo that helped break enemy stagger bars faster was key. More breaks mean more damage opportunities for the main DPS.
Basically, I stopped thinking about bangboos in isolation. I started thinking about the job each agent needed to do, and which bangboo helped them do that job better within the team structure.
So, What Are the “Best”?
Honestly? It depends. Yeah, I know, not the specific list you might want. But after all this testing, the “best” really does change based on:
- The agent you’re putting it on.
- The other agents on your team.
- The type of content you’re facing (boss rush vs crowd control).
My go-to setup now involves pairing bangboos that cover each other’s weaknesses or enhance the team’s overall strategy. Like, one bangboo groups enemies, another applies a debuff, letting my main DPS wipe them out efficiently. It’s more about the synergy than any single “OP” bangboo.

Sure, some S-ranks like the penguin (you know the one) are generally useful. But don’t sleep on those A-ranks! Some of them have fantastic utility that can outperform a poorly matched S-rank. I spent way too long chasing shiny S-ranks before realizing a well-synergized team with A-rank bangboos often felt smoother.
It’s kinda like cooking, isn’t it? You can have the most expensive ingredients, but if you just throw them together randomly, it tastes awful. Gotta understand how the flavors work together. Same thing here. Took me a while, but figuring out these little synergies made the game click for me.
