Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Wuthering Waves Exiles game, or whatever it’s called. My grandson, that tech-savvy little whippersnapper, he’s always yappin’ about it. Says it’s some kinda fancy-schmancy game on his computin’ machine.
First off, they got this Camellya character. Says she’s a big deal, a “5-star” somethin’ or other. Sounds like she’s real strong, like that bull we had back on the farm. Real stubborn too, probably. They’re makin’ a big fuss about her, tellin’ everyone to “download now” and get her. Like she’s the last piece of chicken at a Sunday supper.
Then there’s this “Nova” thing. My grandson says it’s important for makin’ your characters stronger. Says you gotta “find” it. Sounds like lookin’ for eggs in the henhouse, gotta poke around everywhere till you find what you need. He’s always mumblin’ about “ascension” this and “character” that. Kids these days with their fancy words. Back in my day, “ascension” meant climbin’ up the hayloft!
- Gettin’ Stronger: Seems like this whole game is about gettin’ stronger. You gotta find this Nova stuff, whatever that is, and use it to make your characters better. Sounds like hard work to me. I’d rather be kneadin’ dough, at least you get somethin’ tasty outta that.
- Camellya the Big Shot: This Camellya lady is supposed to be real powerful. They’re practically beggin’ people to get her. Reminds me of the time the peddler came to town with those fancy ribbons, all the women folk went crazy for ‘em.
Now, about them “Echoes.” My grandson says you get these Echoes from beatin’ up monsters. Says it’s the best way for new players to get started. Sounds like chasin’ chickens out of the garden, gotta be quick and catch ‘em before they get away. He says you can wander around and fight anything that ain’t human. Reminds me of the time we had that raccoon problem, had to chase them varmints all over the place.
He’s always talkin’ ’bout “open world” this and “farming” that. Sounds like a lot of walkin’ around to me. My old bones ain’t up for that kind of trekkin’ anymore. I’d rather sit on the porch and watch the birds. But he seems to like it, spendin’ hours starin’ at that glowin’ screen. I swear, he talks to those characters like they’re real people.
Wuthering Waves Exiles, huh? Sounds like a whole lotta fuss to me. But if it keeps that grandson of mine outta trouble, I guess it ain’t so bad. At least he ain’t out there runnin’ around with those wild kids from down the road. He’s just sittin’ there, tappin’ away on his buttons, mumblin’ about “ascensions” and “echoes” and whatnot. Lands sakes, kids these days!
And another thing, he’s always showing me these “banners”. Said it is how you get the characters and weapons you want. He showed me the banner with that Camellya, she look alright I guess. Remind me of that picture of my mama back when she was young, beautiful. He’s been trying to get her from that banner. Spent all his allowance he said, all for that five star something. I told him back in my days we had no such things. We work for what we wanted. If we want something we have to work hard to get it. Now all these fancy stuff. Just sitting there clicking button and hope to get what you want. He said that’s the same, he is working for what he wants. I guess in his own way he is.
So yeah, that’s what I know ‘bout this Wuthering Waves Exiles. Not much, I reckon, but enough to know it’s got my grandson hooked. Maybe one day I’ll sit down and watch him play, see what all the fuss is about. But for now, I’ll stick to my knittin’ and leave the monster huntin’ to the young folks.
