Okay, so I wanted to make a cool visual effect for my game, something like a magical ring. I found out that “Wuthering Waves” has some neat-looking rings, and I thought, “I wanna try making something like that!” So I did some digging and started experimenting. This is how it went.
First, I needed a basic circle. I grabbed Blender because it’s free and I’ve used it a bit before. Making a circle in Blender is super easy. You just go to Add > Mesh > Circle. Boom, there it is! I didn’t mess with the settings too much, just kept it simple.

Next, I wanted the ring to be, well, ring-shaped, not just a flat circle. So, I used the “Extrude” tool. I selected the circle, hit ‘E’ to extrude, and then pulled it up a little bit. It looked more like a cylinder at this point, which wasn’t quite what I wanted.
To make it look more like a ring, I used the “Inset Faces” tool. I selected the top face of the cylinder, pressed ‘I’, and then moved my mouse inwards. This created a smaller circle inside the bigger one. Then I just deleted that inner face. Now it’s starting to look like a ring!
It was still pretty blocky, though. To smooth it out, I added a “Subdivision Surface” modifier. This is like magic! It basically makes everything look smoother by adding more polygons. I just went to the modifier panel (it looks like a wrench), clicked “Add Modifier,” and chose “Subdivision Surface.” I cranked up the “Levels Viewport” a bit until it looked nice and smooth.
Now, this was just the basic shape. I wanted it to look more… magical. So, I started playing with materials. I hopped over to the “Shading” workspace in Blender. I added a new material and started messing with the “Principled BSDF” node. This node is like the control center for how the material looks.
I played around with the “Base Color,” making it a nice blue-ish color. Then I bumped up the “Metallic” slider a bit to give it a shiny look. And to make it really glow, I messed with the “Emission” setting. I changed the emission color to a similar blue and increased the strength. Now it’s glowing!
Making it “Wuthering Waves” Style
To get closer to the style I saw in,I have to play a lot. I think I can put some textures to make it cooler.

- Find texture online.
- use “UV Editing” workspace.
- try different “Blend Mode” in “Material Properties”.
I am still experimenting, but the result is quite good for now. I could also animate the ring, make it spin or pulse. That would be cool. I might try that next. I feel I can learn a lot through this simple experiment.
