Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something called “afterglow coral” in Wuthering Waves. I’d seen some stuff online about it and figured, why not give it a shot? I’m not really a pro at this game, but I enjoy figuring things out as I go.
First things first, I needed to actually find this afterglow coral. I remembered reading somewhere that it’s usually near water, like most other corals. So, I started my search by looking at the map, specifically near bodies of water. I spent some time just running around, keeping my eyes peeled for anything that looked like coral. I checked around cliffs, beaches, and riversides. I remember I tried to open the map and find some marks for the materials at first, but I couldn’t find any of them. Maybe I just didn’t look hard enough or they don’t have the information for this kind of materials. But that’s fine, I just took my time and ran around myself.

And then, bingo! I found a bunch of them near a big ol’ lake. It’s in that one location, near a Resonance Nexus. I don’t know how to describe it, I think it’s in the south of the map. The coral itself was pretty easy to spot – it was, well, glowing. I mean, the name “afterglow” kind of gives it away, right? It had this kind of soft, yellowish glow to it. There were also quite a few enemies there, but they were not that hard to defeat. They were some small ones, so it was easy.
So, I started collecting. I just walked up to the coral and there was a button to pick it up. It was super simple. I grabbed a whole bunch of them, figuring I might need them later for something. Who knows, maybe crafting or something. I didn’t really have a plan, I just wanted to see what I could do with them. I just went around the lake and picked them up one by one.
After I’d gathered a good amount, I decided to call it a day on the coral hunting. The game shows that you can’t really do much with it. Maybe just for selling. I haven’t checked the price for that. But the whole thing was pretty chill. It was kind of relaxing, just exploring the map and finding these glowing corals. And I had no idea you could actually find materials near the Resonance Nexus before. Wuthering Waves has some really pretty scenery, so it was nice to just run around and take it all in. It’s kind of like a real adventure to me.
Things I learned today:
- Afterglow coral is near water.
- It glows, so it’s easy to find at night.
- You can find a bunch of it near that one Resonance Nexus in the south of the map.
- There’s probably something you can do with it, but I haven’t figured it out yet.
Anyway, that was my little adventure for today. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try to figure out what to actually do with all this afterglow coral I collected. I haven’t found the place to exchange for materials or weapons yet. Maybe I should check it out tomorrow. Or maybe I’ll just go exploring again. We’ll see!
