Today, I’m diving into something a bit different – I’m talking about the upcoming update for Wuthering Waves, version 1.1, which they’re calling “Thaw of Eons”. Yeah, I’ve been hooked on this game for a bit. It’s a free-to-play, open-world action RPG, and the new update is dropping on June 28th, 2024. I wanted to set up a countdown, just for fun, and figured I’d share how I did it.
First things first, I had to figure out when the update maintenance would start. The official word is that it’ll begin soon, and you won’t be able to log into the game during that time. Apparently, the update goes live on June 28th, so I figured the maintenance would probably start sometime before that, probably the day before, June 27th, I guess?

I’ve read somewhere that Yinlin’s banner would start a week earlier, around June 6th, so that’s cool. And there are new areas like Mt. Firmament to explore, and new characters, or “Resonators”, named Jinhsi and Changli. Sounds like a lot of new content to mess around with.

Set a Date
I grabbed my phone and opened up the calendar app. I marked June 28th as the big day and June 27th as a potential maintenance day.

Note Down the Details
I jotted down a quick note about the new stuff coming – Mt. Firmament, Jinhsi, Changli. Just so I wouldn’t forget.

Tell My Friends
I shot a quick message to my buddies who also play, letting them know about the update. We usually team up, so it’s good to keep everyone in the loop.
I’ve heard some folks mentioning that there were some freezes and stutters when the game first launched, especially in day 1. They said it was probably due to shaders loading, and it got better after playing for a bit. Hopefully, they’ve ironed that out for this update. Anyway, that’s about it for my little Wuthering Waves 1.1 countdown prep. Just a simple way to keep track and get ready for the new content.
Oh, and if you’re into this kind of game, Wuthering Waves is a story-rich open-world action RPG with a high degree of freedom. You wake from your slumber as Rover, so that’s where you start. But maybe that’s a story for another day!
