So I have been playing Overwatch 2 like crazy these past few weeks. It’s a fun game, you know? But something weird started to happen. I noticed that my monitor, which is a regular LCD one, started to show some ghosting. At first, I thought it was nothing, maybe just my eyes playing tricks on me. But then it got worse. I could literally see the Overwatch 2 menus burned into the screen, even when I wasn’t playing the game! It was like the game was haunting my monitor or something.
I tried to ignore it, to tell myself it was going to be fine. I even started playing more to like, I don’t know, overwrite the burned-in images with new ones? It sounds dumb, I know, but I was desperate. But of course, that didn’t help one bit. The blurry menus were still there, mocking me.
Then I thought, maybe it’s some sort of joke setting in the game. You know, like those hidden settings that developers put in for fun? So I went through all the settings, one by one, hoping to find something like “Activate Overwatch 2” or “Unlock main menu images after 100 games.” I know, it’s a long shot, but I was willing to try anything. Turns out, there’s no such setting. It was all in my head, or rather, on my screen.
I started to get a little worried. I mean, a blurry screen is not fun, especially when you’re trying to aim at enemies. It’s like trying to see through a foggy window. So I started doing some digging online. I watched some YouTube videos of other players, and some of them had these weird, blurry menus too. I felt a bit relieved that I wasn’t the only one, but still, what was going on?
I came across some posts talking about deceptive popups and stuff, and for a moment, I thought maybe I got some malware or something. But my antivirus didn’t find anything, so that was a dead end.
Then, I remembered I have this GeForce Experience thingy. I opened it up and started poking around. I went to the settings, then scrolled down to this “in-game overlay” option on the left. Clicked on settings there, but nothing seemed to help with the blurry menus.
I even tried to use Cortana, you know, that voice assistant thingy on Windows 10, to search for a solution. But it was no help, it just kept showing me stuff from Bing, which wasn’t related to my problem at all.
At this point, I was kind of losing hope. But then I stumbled upon some random article about national forests, and that gave me an idea. I thought, maybe taking a break from the game and going outside would help. I mean, fresh air and nature can’t hurt, right? Plus, maybe giving my monitor a break from Overwatch would help it recover.
So, I decided to take a little trip to some nearby forests. It was a nice change of pace. I got some fresh air, saw some trees, and just enjoyed being away from the computer for a while. And guess what? When I came back and turned on my monitor, the blurry menus were gone! It was like magic. I don’t know if it was the break, the fresh air, or just pure luck, but I was so happy to have a clear screen again.
So yeah, that’s my story of how I dealt with blurry Overwatch menus. It was a weird journey, but in the end, taking a break from the game and going outside seemed to do the trick. Who knew that nature could be the solution to a tech problem?
