Alright, let’s talk about this Wuthering Waves Battle Pass thing, specifically the weapons you can grab from it. When I first jumped into the game, I was just running around, you know, exploring, grabbing echoes, doing the story. Didn’t pay much mind to the paid stuff like the battle pass.
But then, you hit that point, right? Maybe around Union Level 30 or 40? Suddenly, the enemies felt a bit spongier, and my damage wasn’t quite cutting it with the random 3-star weapons I’d scraped together. My pulls weren’t exactly blessing me with 5-star weapon luck either, mostly just characters, which is fine, but they need good gear.

Looking at the Battle Pass Options
So, I started looking properly at the “Pioneer Podcast,” that’s what they call the battle pass here. You scroll through the levels, see the usual upgrade materials, some currency. Then you get to that level 30 choice: the weapon crate. Saw there was one for each weapon type – Sword, Broadblade, Gauntlets, Pistols, Rectifier. Okay, choices.
My thought process went something like this:
- Do I even need one of these?
- Are they actually good compared to free options or gacha 4-stars?
- Which weapon type would benefit my current team the most?
I poked around online a bit, saw folks talking about the stats. Crit Rate seems to be the main draw for most of them, which is generally pretty useful. Better than slapping an ATK% 4-star on sometimes, especially if your character ascends with ATK or something else non-crit.
Making the Choice – My Situation
At that time, I was using Calcharo quite a bit, but I actually managed to pull his signature Broadblade from the standard banner somehow, pure luck there. So, Broadblade was out. My Rover was using a decent free sword. Pistols? Mortefi was okay, but I wasn’t focusing on him heavily. Gauntlets? Had Lingyang, but wasn’t super invested yet. Verina was my main healer, and finding a good Rectifier for her that wasn’t just pure ATK felt tricky. The free ones were… fine, but not great.
The Battle Pass Rectifier, the ‘Variatio’ or whatever it’s called, had that Crit Rate substat. Seemed decent enough for a sub-dps leaning healer or even just for getting some crit on Verina since her heals scale off ATK anyway. It felt like the most flexible pick for my account right then. I didn’t have a standout 4-star rectifier, and the BP one looked solid.
Actually Getting and Using It
So, I decided to actually buy the pass. Grinded out the levels, wasn’t too bad, just doing daily stuff mostly. Finally hit level 30. Went into the BP screen, clicked the claim button, and picked the Rectifier. Felt kinda final, you know? You only get one per pass.

Got it, immediately dumped some weapon XP materials into it. Leveled it up to match my current character levels. Slapped it onto Verina. Did it magically transform her? Nah, not really. But it felt like a solid upgrade over the 3-star placeholder I was using. The Crit Rate was nice to have, even if she’s mostly healing. It just felt like a more complete build, even if it wasn’t peak performance.
It’s not like a game-breaking 5-star weapon, obviously. But for a guaranteed 4-star with a useful main stat (Crit Rate), it filled a gap in my arsenal pretty well. Didn’t regret picking the Rectifier for my needs at that moment. If I didn’t have Calcharo’s weapon, I probably would’ve grabbed the Broadblade, honestly. It really depends on what characters you’re using and what weapons you’ve managed to pull or craft already.
