So, I’ve been sinking some time into Wuthering Waves, you know, exploring and fighting stuff. Heard some chatter about the Lunar Cutter sword. People seemed kinda split, some saying it’s good, others not so much. Figured I should just check it out myself instead of listening to hearsay.
Getting Down to Business
First thing was actually getting my hands on the darn thing. Wasn’t just lying around, obviously. I had to look up where the blueprint drops, or if it was a gacha pull. Turns out, for me, it involved gathering specific materials and heading to the crafting station. Seemed straightforward enough, right? Well, easier said than done.

Spent a good couple of hours just running around. Needed a bunch of those Standard Weapon Molds, which meant doing those simulation challenges. Ugh. And then the Indigoite, had to go mining for that stuff. Felt like I was playing a resource gathering sim for a bit there, not an action game. Teleporting, running, smashing rocks, fighting off whatever ambushed me. Pretty standard grind, but still took a chunk of my evening.
Finally got all the bits and pieces. Hauled myself over to Uncle Wei’s workshop in Jinzhou. Found the Lunar Cutter in the crafting list, checked the materials one last time, and hit that craft button. Waited a few seconds… boom. One shiny new Lunar Cutter in my inventory.
Putting It to the Test
Alright, got the sword. Now what? Gotta see how it actually performs. I didn’t have a dedicated sword user who was free, so I just slapped it onto my Rover. Seemed like a decent baseline test subject.
Took it out for a spin near the Resonance Beacon outside Jinzhou, where those Exile enemies hang out. Started swinging. The attack speed felt okay, nothing crazy fast, nothing sluggish. Just… a sword.
The real kicker is supposed to be its passive skill, right? Something about energy regeneration when you use your Resonance Skill. So, I focused on using my skill, watching my Concerto Energy bar. And yeah, I definitely noticed it filling up a bit quicker after using the skill. It wasn’t a massive instant refill, but it shaved off some time waiting for my ultimate, or letting me swap characters faster for their Outro skills.
- Swung the sword. Basic hits felt standard.
- Used Resonance Skill. Noticed the energy gain passive kick in.
- Concerto Energy filled noticeably faster over a few rotations.
- Fought some tougher Tacet Discords. The faster energy helped cycle abilities more smoothly.
Against tougher enemies, like some Tacet Discords wandering around, having that extra bit of energy regen was actually quite helpful. Let me get my Rover’s ultimate ability back online sooner, which helped break stuns or just deal extra damage. It made the combat flow feel a little smoother, less waiting around.

Final Thoughts for Now
So, the Lunar Cutter. Is it game-changing? Nah, probably not. Especially if you’ve got some high-end gacha weapons. But is it useless? Definitely not.
It’s a solid, craftable 4-star sword. The energy recharge passive is genuinely useful, especially on characters who rely on their skills or ultimate frequently, or if you’re building a team focused on quick swaps and Outro skills. The base stats are decent enough for its rarity.
Was it worth the grind to craft it? For me, yeah, I think so. It fills a niche, and having that energy regen option is good. Didn’t cost me any premium currency, just time and effort gathering materials I mostly had lying around anyway. I’ll probably level it up a bit more and see how it scales. It’s a decent workhorse weapon, does its job without much fuss. Can’t complain too much about that.
