Okay, so I decided it was finally time to get Changli leveled up properly. You know how it is, new character drops, looks cool, gotta ascend them.
First Look at the Shopping List
First thing I did was pop open her character screen. Needed to see what junk she actually needed. Always a bit of a pain, figuring out the exact materials. Looked like the usual mix: some boss drops, common enemy stuff, and those regional plants you gotta run around for.

Boss Bits and Bobs
Saw she needed stuff from that Inferno Rider fella. Ugh. Not my favorite fight, but what can you do? Had to buckle down and farm him. Spent a good chunk of my Waveplate stash just running that boss over and over. You get into a rhythm after a while, dodge, hit, dodge, hit. Pick up the loot. Repeat. Got enough of his unique drops eventually, thankfully.
Common Enemy Grind
Then there were the drops from those Exile enemies, the ones with the masks. You find these guys scattered all over the place, which is kinda nice, means you don’t have to camp one spot too hard. I just went through my usual farming routes, smacking any Exiles I saw along the way. Picked up a bunch of their masks, the green ones, blue ones, purple ones. Took a while to get enough of the higher rarity ones, you know how that RNG is.
- Ran around the Dim Forest area mostly.
- Cleared out a few camps near the Central Plains too.
- It’s kinda mindless work, just running and fighting. Put on some music.
Plant Picking Duty
Last up was the local specialty, Coriolus. Those weird glowing mushrooms. Okay, these weren’t too bad. Found a bunch stuck to cliffs and big trees, especially around the Tiger’s Maw Mine area. Still took some time, you gotta actually look for them, climb up stuff. Spent maybe 30-40 minutes just doing dedicated mushroom hunting runs. Better than some other characters’ materials, I guess. Some of those plants are a real nightmare to spot.
Wrapping It Up (For Now)
So yeah, after a couple of sessions focusing just on her stuff, I got a decent pile of materials. Enough for the next ascension level, at least. Still need more for the higher levels, obviously, and don’t even get me started on the weapon materials. That’s a whole other grind. But felt good to check off the list for this stage. Just gotta rinse and repeat for the next level now. The grind never really ends, does it?
