Alright, so I’ve been messing around with different army compositions for Town Hall 9 in Clash of Clans, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I wanted to share what I’ve found that actually works, ’cause let’s be real, there’s a ton of advice out there that just doesn’t cut it.
My Go-To TH9 Army Comp
First off, I experimented with a bunch of different troop combos. Some were okay, some were total disasters. I quickly learned that you gotta have a good balance.

So, after a lot of trial and error (and a lot of lost raids), I finally landed on something that consistently gets me 3 stars, or at least a solid 2. Here’s what I roll with:
- Golems: Usually 2. These guys are your tanks, soaking up all the damage.
- Wizards: I pack around 10-12 of these. They do the heavy lifting damage-wise, once the Golems have cleared the way.
- Wall Breakers: 4-6, depending on the base. Gotta get those walls down!
- Hog:6-8,It can destory single defense building.
- Archers: I sprinkle in about 6-8 of these. Good for picking off buildings on the outside, or helping funnel.
- Healer:2-4,Keep you Golems alive.
- Spells: Typically, 2 Rage Spells, 1 Heal Spell, and 1 Poison Spell. The rages help push through tough defenses, the heal keeps my troops alive, and the poison takes care of enemy Clan Castle troops.
How I Attack
The key is the deployment. It’s not just about throwing everything at the base and hoping for the best. You gotta have a plan.
- Scout the Base: First, I always, always look at the base carefully. Where are the defenses? Where are the possible traps? Are there any weak spots?
- Lure Clan Castle Troops: If there are troops in the Clan Castle, I try to lure them out with a few archers or hogs. Once they’re out, I drop the poison spell and let my wizards take care of them. This is crucial.
- Golem Deployment: I usually deploy my Golems on one side of the base, where I want to make my main push. I try to spread them out a bit so they don’t all get targeted by the same defenses.
- Wall Breakers: Right after the Golems, I send in the Wall Breakers. Timing is key here. You want them to break the walls before your Golems get stuck.
- Wizard Funnel: Once the Golems are in and the walls are breached, I start deploying my Wizards behind them. I don’t just dump them all in one spot, though. I create a “funnel” by placing a few wizards on either side of the Golems, so they don’t wander off around the base.
- Hog:Use Hog destory single building to avoid run into gaint bomb.
- Archer Cleanup: I use the archers to pick off any remaining buildings on the outside, or to help the wizards clear out the core.
- Spell Usage: I use the Rage Spells when my troops are engaging heavy defenses, like X-Bows or Inferno Towers. The Heal Spell is for when my troops are taking a lot of damage, usually in the core of the base.
This strategy has been working pretty well for me. Of course, every base is different, so you have to be able to adapt. But this is a good starting point for a solid TH9 army. Don’t be afraid to tweak it to fit your own style, though! The most important thing is to practice and learn from your mistakes. Happy clashing!
