Alright, so I wanted to get better at attacking in Clash of Clans, specifically with my Town Hall 11 base. I’ve been getting crushed lately, so I figured it was time to actually learn some strategies instead of just throwing troops at the enemy and hoping for the best.
First thing I did was watch a bunch of YouTube videos. I mean, a bunch. I searched for “th 11 attacks” and just started clicking on anything that looked promising. I quickly realized there’s a whole world of attack strategies out there, way more than I ever imagined.

I decided to focus on a few popular ones that seemed doable for my level. I saw a lot of people using:
- Queen Walk with Hybrid: Seemed complicated, but powerful.
- GoWiBo: Sounded pretty straightforward, lots of Golems, Witches, and Bowlers.
- Mass Dragons: Always tempting, just a wall of fire-breathing death.
GoWiBo Try #1 (And #2, and #3…)
I figured GoWiBo sounded the easiest to start with. So, I cooked up an army. Golems, Witches, Bowlers, some Wall Breakers, the whole shebang. My first attack… well, it was a disaster. I put everything down in the wrong place, my Wall Breakers died instantly, and my troops just wandered around aimlessly. One-star fail.
I didn’t give up though. I watched another video, paying closer attention to troop placement and funneling. Second attack, slightly better, but still only a two-star. I was getting frustrated. I messed with the army composition. More Bowlers Fewer witches.
I kept practicing. I did a bunch of friendly challenges against my clanmates, and they gave me some tips. I learned the hard way that you can’t just drop everything in one spot and expect it to work. You gotta create a funnel, so your troops go where you want them to go.
Queen Walk Woes
After getting a little more comfortable with GoWiBo, I decided to try the Queen Walk Hybrid. This one was tough. The idea is to use your Archer Queen with a bunch of Healers to take out a chunk of the base, then send in your main army (usually Miners and Hogs) to finish the job. Sounded cool, but man, it’s tricky.
My first few Queen Walks were… embarrassing. My Queen would either get swarmed by defenses or wander off in the wrong direction. The Healers would get taken out by Air Defenses. It was a mess. I almost gave up on it entirely.

I realized I need help. More videos! This time watching more carefully and I make a few changes. More rage, and I bring a baby drag to help with the funnel.
Slow and Steady Progress
But I stuck with it, practiced some more, and slowly, very slowly, I started to see some improvement. I learned how to use the Rage spell to keep my Queen alive, how to use a Baby Dragon to help funnel her, and how to time my main army deployment. It’s still not perfect, but I’m getting there.
Finally, the mass dragons. Ahh… I think I found my new favorite strat. With the right support spells, the dragons melt the defenses, it’s like magic.
So, that’s where I’m at. I’m definitely not a pro attacker yet, but I’m a lot better than I was. I’m still experimenting with different strategies, tweaking my armies, and learning from my mistakes. It’s a grind, but it’s actually pretty fun to see myself getting better. The key is practice, practice, practice… and watching a lot of YouTube.
