Alright, let’s talk about this “Cloud Cruising” thing in Monopoly GO. I kept seeing mentions of it, maybe in the game or some forums, can’t quite recall where exactly. Anyway, figured I’d jump in and see what it was all about myself.
Getting Started with It
So, I grabbed my phone the other day, specifically to check this out. Opened up Monopoly GO. You know how it takes a sec to load everything up, connect to the server, all that jazz. Once it was up, I looked around the main screen. Usually, the new events or features are pretty obvious, big banners and stuff.

Sure enough, there was something about “Cloud Cruising”. Wasn’t super flashy, but it was there. I tapped on it to see the details. It looked like one of those typical events they run pretty often.
Figuring Out The Gameplay Loop
The basic idea seemed simple: play the game as usual, roll the dice, move around the board. But, there was a twist. You needed to collect special items, let’s call them ‘Sky Miles’ or something similar, I forget the exact name they used. You got these by landing on specific tiles. I think it was the railroads and maybe the utilities? Can’t be 100% sure now, my memory’s a bit hazy on the exact tiles.
Here’s what I did:
- I just started rolling the dice, playing my normal game.
- Tried to keep an eye out for chances to land on those specific tiles needed for the event items.
- When I landed on one, I got a little notification saying I collected some ‘Sky Miles’.
- There was a progress bar showing how many I’d collected and what rewards I could get.
My Thoughts While Playing
Honestly, it felt pretty much like every other Monopoly GO event. You play, you collect tokens, you get rewards. The first few rewards, like some dice and a bit of cash, were easy enough to get. I managed that within maybe 20 minutes of playing.
But then, the requirements ramped up. Needed a whole lot more ‘Sky Miles’ for the bigger prizes. Looked like it would take a ton of dice rolls to even get close. Seemed like a real grind, you know? You’d have to play a lot or get really lucky with your rolls landing on the right spots.
I spent maybe another half hour on it. Used up a decent chunk of my dice. Got one more small reward. But looking at the top prizes – maybe a shield skin or a pile of dice – and seeing how many points were needed, I just thought, nah, not worth burning through all my resources for this one.

Wrapping Up My Experience
So, I dipped my toes into the “Cloud Cruising” event. It worked, the mechanics were clear, nothing was broken or confusing. I collected some tokens, got a couple of small rewards back. But it didn’t feel particularly special or different from their usual events. It was just… another event. Didn’t really capture my attention enough to make me want to push hard for those top-tier rewards. Maybe next time they’ll mix it up a bit more.
