Okay, so I was curious about Gina Carano, the MMA fighter turned actress. You know, the one from The Mandalorian? I wanted to get a feel for her, like, physical presence. Not in a creepy way, just, you know…what’s she all about, physically?
First thing I did was hit up the internet, just a general search. Found out she’s 5’8″, which is pretty tall for a woman, especially a fighter. And she weighs in around 145 pounds. Seems about right for someone who can throw down like she does.
Digging a Little Deeper
Then I started looking into her fighting career. Turns out she has a 7-1 record in Elite Xtreme Combat and Strikeforce. That’s pretty darn good! They used to call her the “face of women’s MMA” but she didn’t like the title. And get this – she and Cris Cyborg were the first women to headline a major MMA event. That’s some serious trailblazing right there.
I tried to find some videos of her fights. Man, she’s intense! You can see why she transitioned to acting so well. She’s got that physicality, that presence. Learned that during the filming of The Mandalorian, she did a bunch of her own stunts. Apparently, she clicked with the stunt team really well. They were like “brothers and sisters” to her. Probably her MMA background helped there. It’s like, once you’ve been in the ring, throwing punches and taking hits, a little movie action is no big deal, right?
One thing led to another, and I found this little tidbit about her dad. His name is Glenn Carano. That’s all I found, but it’s a fun little fact to know. The internet, man, it takes you down some rabbit holes. There is some rumor about her and Henry Cavill back in April 16, but I don’t follow that much.
So, yeah, that’s my little Gina Carano deep dive. She’s tough, she’s talented, and she’s definitely someone who commands respect, both in the ring and on screen.
- Height: 5’8″ (1.73 m)
- Weight: Around 145 lbs (65 kg)
- MMA Record: 7-1
- Fun Fact: Her dad’s name is Glenn.
It was a fun little investigation. You never know what you’ll learn when you start poking around on the internet! I just have these random curiosities pop into my head sometimes, and I just gotta follow them, you know? Now I want to go watch some of her fight highlights. It was a good time!
