Okay, here is my blog post about getting McGregor tattoos:
So, I’ve been a huge fan of Conor McGregor for a while now. I mean, the guy’s a legend, right? His fighting style, his confidence, his whole persona – it’s just captivating. And I’ve always dug his tattoos. They’re bold, they’re iconic, and they tell a story. I’ve been thinking about getting some ink for ages, and I finally decided, “Screw it, I’m going for it – McGregor style!”
Getting Started
First thing I did was gather some pictures. I spent hours just looking at all the photos online of McGregor’s tattoos. The gorilla on his chest, the tiger on his stomach, the “McGregor” and “Notorious” across his back and forearm – I wanted to get a good feel for all of them. I didn’t want to just copy him exactly, but I definitely wanted to capture that same vibe.
Finding the Right Artist
Next up, finding an artist. This was a big one. I mean, this is going on my body permanently, so I needed someone who knew what they were doing. I asked around, looked at portfolios online, and finally found this shop a couple of towns over. The artist there, his name was Mark, he was heavily into realistic and portrait work, which seemed like a good fit for the detailed McGregor pieces.
- Asked friends for recommendations
- Scoured online reviews and portfolios
- Visited a few shops in person
The Consultation
I went in for a consultation with Mark. We talked about the designs, the placement, the size, everything. He seemed to get what I was going for, and even offered some cool suggestions. I showed him the pictures I’d saved, and we went through them one by one, talking about what I liked and didn’t like. I told him how I admired those tattoos of McGregor, but wanted my own spin on them. Mark totally got it.
Getting Inked
The day finally came! I was a little nervous, not gonna lie. But mostly excited. I ended up going with the gorilla on my chest, just like Conor. But I had Mark make it a little more fierce-looking, with more prominent teeth. I chose to add some color to it too, while McGregor’s gorilla was just black and gray. I also got “Notorious” on my forearm, but in a slightly different font. We spent a good few hours working on it. It wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be, but it definitely wasn’t comfortable. We took a few breaks, chatted a bit, and listened to some music. Mark was super chill, which helped a lot.
- Chose the gorilla and “Notorious”
- Added my own personal touches
- Spent several hours under the needle
The Finished Product
When it was all done, I was stoked. Seriously, it looked even better than I imagined. The gorilla is an absolute beast, and the “Notorious” is sharp and clean. It’s exactly the kind of bold statement I was hoping for. It felt so awesome to finally have these tattoos that I’d been dreaming about. They represented something I was passionate about and were a testament to my admiration for one of my heroes.
It’s been a few weeks now, and they’re all healed up. I’m still super happy with them. They’re a part of me now, and I get compliments on them all the time. Definitely worth the time, the money, and the little bit of pain. If you’re thinking about getting some ink, do your research, find a good artist, and go for it! You won’t regret it.
