Alright, let’s talk about this Annie Leibovitz and Coco Gauff picture thing. I saw it on that internet thingy my grandson showed me. You know, the one with all the pictures and whatnot. This Annie, she’s a picture taker, a real famous one, they say. Makes folks look all fancy and important.
So, she took pictures of Coco Gauff. You know, that young tennis gal? The one who runs around hitting that little yellow ball real hard. Yeah, her. Annie took pictures of her and her whole family, her momma, her daddy, and them brothers. All in a place called Ocean Ridge, Florida. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Ocean Ridge… like somethin’ out of a movie.
This Annie, she’s got a way of makin’ pictures look real… somethin’. Not just like them quick snaps you take with your phone. These are pictures that tell a story, they say. I guess that’s why she’s so famous. They say she charges a whole heap of money for these pictures, too. Hundreds of thousands of dollars! Can you believe that? For a picture! Shoot, I could take a picture for a whole lot less. Just gotta point and click, right? But I guess it ain’t that simple.
Anyway, back to Coco. She seems like a nice young lady, that Coco. Works hard, plays that tennis real good. And her family, they seem proud of her. You can see it in them pictures Annie took. They’re all smilin’ and lookin’ happy. It’s nice to see a family supportin’ each other like that. Reminds me of my own family, back in the day. We weren’t fancy, but we had each other.

I heard tell Annie used to live in Ocean Ridge herself. Said it used to be a real nice place, free and happy. Don’t know what happened to it, but things change, I guess. Nothin’ stays the same forever. Just like them kids, they grow up so fast. One minute they’re little tykes runnin’ around, the next they’re hittin’ tennis balls and gettin’ their pictures taken by famous photographers.
It’s funny, you know? They used to call Coco by a different name, Cori. That’s what they put on them papers when she played tennis. But I guess Coco sounds better, or somethin’. These young folks, always changin’ things up. Can’t keep up with ‘em half the time.
Annie, she’s known for makin’ folks look real important in them pictures. They say she stages everything just so, the lights and the colors and all that. And she does it for all sorts of famous people, actors and singers and such. Even had a big fancy deal with a magazine, paid her millions of dollars a year, they say. Millions! That’s more money than I’ll ever see in my whole life.
But I gotta say, them pictures of Coco and her family, they’re somethin’ special. They ain’t just fancy pictures of famous people. They show a family, a real family, proud and happy. And that’s somethin’ worth more than all the money in the world, if you ask me. So yeah, this Annie Leibovitz, she might be fancy and famous, but she knows how to capture somethin’ real. And that’s what makes a good picture, ain’t it? Not the lights or the poses, but the feelin’ you get when you look at it.
Now, I don’t know much about art or photography, but I know what I like. And I like these pictures of Coco and her family. They remind me of simpler times, of family and love and all that good stuff. And I reckon that’s what Annie Leibovitz was tryin’ to show us. Not just a famous tennis player, but a real person with a real family.
