Okay, so I’ve been messing around with different army compositions for Town Hall 9 in Clash of Clans, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I wanted to share what I’ve learned so far, ’cause it might help some of you guys out.
Experimenting with Different Troops
At first, I was all over the place. I tried mass dragons, but they were kinda slow and got wrecked by air defenses. Then I went with the classic GoWiPe, which is Golems, Wizards, and P.E.K.*. It was okay, but it felt like I was always running out of time, especially against bases with lots of compartments.

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos, read some guides, and realized I needed to be more strategic. So, I started breaking down my attacks into phases:
- Phase 1: Funneling. This is where you create a path for your main troops. I usually use a couple of Golems and some Wizards to clear out the outside buildings.
- Phase 2: Core Attack. Once the funnel is set, I send in the P.E.K.* and the rest of the Wizards, along with my Heroes.
- Phase 3: Cleanup. I save a few Wizards or Archers to pick off any remaining buildings once the main defenses are down.
My Go-To Army (For Now)
After lots of trial and error, here’s the army composition I’ve been having the most success with:
- 2 Golems
- 1 P.E.K.K.A
- 13 Wizards
- 8 Wall Breakers
- 4 Archers
- Spells will be :2 Rage Spells,1 Heal Spell and 1 Posion Spell
And 5 bowlers and 1 posion in Clan Castle
It’s not perfect, but it’s been working pretty well for me. The key is to be patient and really focus on that funneling. If your troops go wandering around the outside of the base, you’re toast.
Practice Makes Perfect!
Honestly, the biggest thing is just practice. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try different things. You’ll fail a lot, but that’s how you learn. I’m still tweaking my strategy, and I’m sure I’ll find even better compositions as I go. Keep clashing, and don’t give up!
