Alright, so I finally got around to playing this game, “Helldivers”. The code “10002038” kept popping up, so I figured I’d share my experience figuring it all out. Let me tell you, It’s a mess at start.
Getting Started
First, I booted up the game. You know, the usual way. Double-clicked the icon, waited for it to load. Everything seemed normal. Then, Bam! Error code 10002038, right in my face. I was like, “What the heck is this?”.

Troubleshooting Round 1
My first instinct? Restart everything. I rebooted the game, rebooted my PC, even unplugged my router for a good minute (you know, just in case). Still nothing. Same error code. I am going nuts.
Digging Deeper
Okay, time to hit the internet. I spent a good hour scrolling through forums and Reddit posts. Lots of people seemed to have the same problem, but there were like a million different “solutions”. This is frustrating.
- Some folks said it was a server issue.
- Others claimed it was a firewall problem.
- A few even suggested messing with the game files (which I was NOT about to do).
Trying the Obvious (and Not-So-Obvious)
I started with the easy stuff. I checked my internet connection – solid. I disabled my firewall temporarily – no luck. I even verified the game files through the game launcher. Still that darn 10002038 error.
The “Aha!” Moment (Maybe?)
Then I stumbled upon a post suggesting to run the game as an administrator. I right-clicked the game icon, selected “Run as administrator”, and held my breath. I prayed to every god, and my cat watched.
Success(sort of)
It still not working! I yelled to my screen, maybe the game developer listened. Then, I re-installed the game, did everything all over again, and it worked!
I have no idea which specific step did the trick, to be honest. I suspect running everything together.

But hey, I’m in! It’s working now, that’s all I care. Time to dive into some Helldivers action, so I can sleep.
