Alright, guys, let’s dive into my recent journey with TH9 attack strategies. I’ve been experimenting a lot lately, and I wanted to share my process, from the initial planning to the actual execution.
Scouting and Planning
First things first, I always start by scouting the base thoroughly. I spend a good amount of time looking at the layout, identifying key defenses, and figuring out potential weak spots. I pay close attention to:

- Where are the Air Defenses?
- What about the Clan Castle? Can I lure it out easily?
- Are there any obvious Giant Bomb spots?
- Where are the Teslas likely to be?
Once I have a good understanding of the base, I start to formulate a plan. This usually involves choosing a specific attack strategy. Lately, I’ve been having a lot of success with GoHo (Golem, Hog Riders), but I also like to use Lavaloonion (Lava Hound, Balloons, Minions) depending on the base design. For example, if I see compact, closely-grouped Air Defenses, Lavaloonion is tempting, if spread out, I choose GoHo.
The Attack – GoHo Example
Let’s walk through a recent GoHo attack I did. After scouting, I noticed the Air Defenses were relatively exposed, making a Hog Rider-based strategy viable. I decided on a “Cold-Blooded” approach, meaning I start with a Golem and a few Wizards to create a funnel and take out a portion of the base before deploying the Hogs. I’m talking:
- Deploy the Golem on one side, aiming to draw fire from defenses.
- Follow up with a few Wizards to clear out surrounding buildings and create that crucial funnel. This prevents the Hogs from going on a wild goose chase.
- Once the funnel is established, unleash the Hog Riders in a surgical manner, usually from two or three different points.
- Use Healing Spells strategically to keep those Hogs alive as they encounter splash damage and potential Giant Bomb locations.
- Deploy a few clean-up troops (like Wizards or Archers) to pick off any remaining buildings once the defenses are down.
The Attack – Lavaloonion Deep Dive
For example, another attack,I scouted a base with tightly packed Air Defenses, I knew it was Lavaloonion time.
-
First, I deployed my Lava Hounds. One or two usually does the trick, aiming for the Air Defenses to soak up damage.
-
Then, I quickly followed with my Balloons. I like to spread them out in a line or a curve, so they can efficiently target those defenses.
-
Here’s a little trick: I use a few Minions to snipe off any outlying buildings, helping to create a path for the Balloons and keep them focused on the core.
-
Now, for spells, I mostly use Rage Spells to boost the Balloons’ attack speed as they approach the Air Defenses, and a Haste Spell or two can really help them move quickly across the base.
Review and Refine
After each attack, whether it’s a glorious three-star victory or a humbling defeat, I always watch the replay. I analyze what went well, what went wrong, and where I could improve. Did my troops go where I expected? Did I use my spells effectively? Did I misjudge a trap location?
This process of attacking, reviewing, and refining is crucial for getting better. It’s not just about blindly copying strategies; it’s about understanding the underlying principles and adapting them to different situations. It’s like, you gotta put in the reps, learn from your mistakes, and keep tweaking your approach until you find what works best for you.
This is my simple way of doing my attack, Keep practicing, and happy clashing!
