So, I’ve been on this kick lately, trying to draw more. You know, get those creative juices flowing and all that. And who better to sketch than the man, the myth, the legend, Joe Rogan? Dude’s got a face that’s just begging to be put on paper. So I was like, yeah, let’s do this.
I started by gathering some reference images. Just Googled “Joe Rogan” and a bunch of stuff popped up. Picked a few that I thought showed off his, um, unique features. You know, the bald head, the intense stare, that whole thing. I wanted to do this right.

Finding the Right Tools
-
Pencils: I’ve got a whole set of these, from like 2H all the way to 6B. Figured I’d need a range for different shades and stuff.
-
Paper: Just some regular sketch paper. Nothing fancy.
-
Eraser: Gotta have that. My drawing style is messy, let me tell you.
Next, I started sketching. Began with a basic outline, just trying to get the proportions right. This part is always the hardest for me. I mean, getting the head shape and where the eyes and nose go… it’s tricky! Messed up a bunch of times, erased, redrew, the whole nine yards. It took me more time than I expected.
Once I had the outline down, I started shading. This is where those different pencils came in handy. Used the lighter ones for highlights and the darker ones for shadows. Tried to get that “brooding Joe Rogan” look, you know what I mean? It was a hard time but I did it.
Then came the details. The eyes, the stubble, the wrinkles… all those little things that make a drawing look like the actual person. This part took forever. I kept adding, erasing, and refining. I think I spent like a whole evening just on his eyes.

Finally, after hours of work, I finished it. Stepped back, took a look, and you know what? It wasn’t half bad! I mean, it’s not like I’m a professional artist or anything, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It actually looked like Joe Rogan, which is a win in my book. So, yeah, that’s my story about drawing Joe Rogan. A fun little project, and I learned a lot in the process. Maybe I’ll try another celebrity next. Who knows?
I took a photo with my phone and shared it with my friends and family. I’m really satisfied.
