Okay, so, I’ve been grinding away at the 4.8 Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started off feeling pretty confident, you know? I thought I had some solid teams, but boy, was I in for a surprise.
First off, I assembled what I thought was a killer team: Neuvillette, Kazuha, Baizhu, and Furina. I had seen some chatter online that this was like the dream team, and the usage rate was super high, something like 36.3%. I was like, “Yeah, this is it, I’m gonna crush it.” I jumped into the Abyss, and in the initial stages, things were going smoothly. Neuvillette was dishing out some serious damage, Kazuha was swirling like a madman, and Baizhu and Furina were keeping everyone alive and kicking.
But then, I hit a wall. I got to a floor with these Geo Shield bosses, and suddenly, my dream team wasn’t so dreamy anymore. I mean, they were good, but not good enough. I realized I needed a character who could handle both the shields and the insane burst damage from enemies like Tulpa. That’s when I remembered something I’d read online: “Zhongli is a cheat code here.” Unfortunately, I didn’t have Zhongli, so I had to get creative.
I swapped out Baizhu for a well-built Ayaka, thinking her Cryo application would be helpful. It was a decent change, but not exactly what I needed. I was still struggling. Then, I remembered another piece of advice I’d seen: “Ayaka and Hutao are your best options. They are consistently rated as the best characters in the game.” So, I decided to give Hutao a shot. I paired her with characters that could support her and trigger reactions, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. She was melting through those Geo shields like butter.
But I also had to keep in mind the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon. It was all about the Burning reaction, giving a huge buff to CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG when attacking enemies affected by Burning. So, I made sure to bring characters who could reliably apply Pyro and trigger that reaction. It was like the missing piece of the puzzle. Suddenly, my teams were not just surviving, they were thriving.
I kept experimenting with different combinations, swapping characters in and out, trying to find the perfect synergy. It was a lot of trial and error, a lot of close calls, and a lot of, “Oh, crap, that didn’t work!” moments. But that’s the beauty of the Abyss, right? It forces you to adapt, to think outside the box, and to really understand your characters’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Team 1: Neuvillette, Kazuha, Furina, and a flex slot that I changed depending on the floor. Sometimes it was a healer, sometimes a shielder, sometimes another DPS.
- Team 2: Hutao, Xingqiu, Yelan, and a support character who could apply Pyro for Burning. This team was my go-to for dealing with the Geo Shield bosses.
- Team 3: Ayaka, a good Cryo support like Shenhe or Rosaria, an Anemo character for crowd control and the Viridescent Venerer set, and a Hydro character for Freeze reactions.
Here are some of the team compositions that ended up working best for me:
After countless attempts and a whole lot of frustration, I finally managed to clear all the floors and get those precious full stars. It was such a satisfying feeling. I learned a lot about team building, character synergy, and the importance of adapting to different situations. The Spiral Abyss is definitely a challenge, but it’s also a great way to push yourself and your characters to their limits.
So, if you’re struggling with the 4.8 Abyss, don’t give up! Keep experimenting, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to try out new team compositions. You might just surprise yourself with what you can achieve. And hey, if you’ve got any tips or tricks of your own, feel free to share them. We’re all in this together, right?
