I woke up this morning with a weird feeling. It was like something big was about to happen. I had this title in my head, “The Reaping Has Begun,” but I had no clue what I was going to do with it. So, I just started messing around with some stuff I had lying around.
First, I grabbed an old Excel sheet. I’ve been tracking some random numbers in it, don’t even remember why. I figured I’d try adding some rules to it, you know, those data validation things. Turns out, these rules work whether you type in the numbers yourself or if they’re calculated by some formula. Who knew? That was kind of neat.
Then I got distracted. I stumbled upon some article from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It was boring, so I skimmed it. But it got me thinking about all the stuff going on in the world, and how it’s kind of like a mirror of what happens in governments. You got your executive, legislative, and judicial branches. Same setup, different players.
After that, I decided to tinker with my computer. I remembered reading something about Secure Boot, which is supposed to check if your system files are legit during startup. Apparently, if it doesn’t like the signature of an update, it won’t let it install. Sounds like a good way to keep things safe, but it also sounded like something I could mess with.
Next, I went down the rabbit hole of cybersecurity. I found this website, Hack the Box. It’s like a game where you practice hacking stuff. I didn’t get very far, but it was fun. It made me wonder about those VM things. What does VM even stand for? Virtual something, right? And what’s that tool we use to type commands into the operating system? I couldn’t remember.
My brain was all over the place. I started thinking about poverty, how some people live on less than a dollar a day. I saw a flashcard online that called it “subjective poverty” or something. It made me feel kind of bad.
Finally, I ended up messing with my audio system. I’ve got a decent setup, but I never really understood the difference between stereo, surround sound, and home theater. There’s some guide out there, an intro guide to high-performance audio. I tried to read it, but it was way over my head.
So, yeah, that was my day. I started with “The Reaping Has Begun” and ended up with a whole lot of nothing. But it was kind of fun just exploring random stuff. Maybe tomorrow I’ll actually figure out what that title means.
- Tried to make sense of Excel data validation.
- Got lost in a government article.
- Played around with Secure Boot ideas.
- Failed at some hacking game.
- Contemplated poverty.
- Got confused by audio stuff.
In the end, “The Reaping Has Begun” didn’t really become anything specific. But, hey, it was a journey, right?
