Okay, so, the other day I was messing around with this idea of, like, finding a “coffin” downstream in the Ellac River. Sounds kinda morbid, I know, but it was more about the challenge of, could I even do it? and less about, you know, actually finding a real coffin.
Getting Started
First thing I did was, obviously, to research the heck out of the Ellac River.

Maps, local reports, anything I could get my hands on. I wanted to get a feel for the river’s flow, where it gets wider, narrower, any tricky spots, that kind of stuff.
The Search
I spent a good few hours just looking at the river.
It was more of a “where would something that size likely end up?” kind of deal.
I was looking for a place where an object like the shape of coffin might naturally float to and stay there.

- Downstream Drift: I know the object will be washed downstream.
- Obstacles: It might get snagged on rocks, branches, or stuck in the curves.
- Current Changes:It will gather at place where river’s flow slows down.
The “Find”
After all that, I finally simulate the process.
I just use my imagination to decide a place.
It was a fun little experiment.
