So, the other day I jumped into The Finals, ready to have some fun, and bam, got hit with this “system integrity violation” error. It was a real head-scratcher. I mean, I was just trying to enjoy the game, and suddenly, I was locked out. This had never happened to me before, so I was pretty confused.
First thing I did was the classic “turn it off and on again” trick. I restarted my PC, hoping it was just a one-time glitch. No luck. The error was still there, staring me right in the face. Okay, time to get a bit more serious.
Next, I thought, maybe it’s an issue with the game files. So I went into Steam and verified the integrity of the game files. You know, just in case something got corrupted during an update or something. It took a while, and I was hoping this would be the fix. But nope, the error was still there after it was done.
At this point, I was starting to get a bit frustrated. I started digging around online, looking for anyone else who had the same problem. I found a bunch of forum threads with people complaining about the same issue. Some suggested it might be an issue with Easy Anti-Cheat, the game’s anti-cheat software.
Easy Anti-Cheat Steps
- I tried repairing Easy Anti-Cheat.
- Then I tried uninstalling it.
- And then reinstalling it.
That didn’t work either. I was beginning to think I’d never get back into the game.
Then, I remembered some folks mentioning that certain background apps could interfere with anti-cheat systems. I had a few RGB lighting control programs and some other stuff running. So, I decided to try closing all non-essential background apps. One by one, I shut them down, hoping to find the culprit.
And guess what? That was it! After I closed everything, I launched the game, and it worked perfectly. No more “system integrity violation” error. It turns out one of those background apps was messing with the game. I still don’t know exactly which app it was, but at least I got the game working. What a relief! It was a long shot, but it paid off. From now on, I’ll be sure to close down unnecessary programs before launching the game. It’s a pain, but it’s better than not being able to play at all.
I was able to play The Finals after all. And you know what? The next time this happens, I know exactly what to do.
