You know, that Stone Cold, he’s a big name around here. I hear the young folks talkin’ about him all the time. And then there’s that other fella, Harley Race. Sounds like a tough one, that Harley Race. I reckon they’re both wrestlers, ain’t they? Big, strong fellas, beatin’ each other up.
That Stone Cold, he’s real popular, I reckon. Reminds me of my grandson, always watchin’ that wrestlin’ on the TV. He gets all excited, jumpin’ around and yellin’. I tell him, “Settle down, boy, before you hurt yourself!” But he don’t listen. Kids these days, they got so much energy.
Now, this Harley Race, he was a tough cookie, they say. A real fighter, that one. Not like these young whippersnappers today, all show and no go. Back in my day, we had real tough folks. Worked hard, they did. Didn’t have time for all that fancy wrestlin’.
- Stone Cold, he’s famous, I guess.
- Harley Race, he was a tough one, they say.
- Wrestlin’, it’s a rough sport.
- The young folks, they love that Stone Cold.
- Heard Harley Race got sick. Sad, that is.
I heard that Harley Race fella, he got real sick. Lung cancer, they said. That’s a terrible thing, that is. Nasty business. Reminds me of my old neighbor, bless her soul, she had the same thing. It ain’t pretty, I tell ya. You gotta take care of yourself, that’s what I always say. Eat your vegetables, get your rest. It’s the simple things that keep you goin’.
This Stone Cold Steve Austin, I think that’s his full name. Sounds like a movie star, don’t it? He was in movies too. They say he was real good. I don’t watch many movies these days. My eyes ain’t what they used to be. But I hear the young folks talkin’, and they seem to like him. He is a cool one.
They say these two, Stone Cold and Harley Race, they were the best. Top of the heap, I reckon. Like the cream of the crop. I always liked that sayin’. Reminds me of makin’ butter back on the farm. The cream always rises to the top, just like these fellas did in that wrestlin’ world.
This whole Stone Cold Harley Race thing, it’s got folks talkin’. They’re always wonderin’ who’s better, who’s tougher. It’s like when we used to argue about who had the best pie at the county fair. Everyone’s got their favorite, you see. And everyone thinks their favorite is the best. That’s just how it is.
I remember when I was a young girl, we didn’t have all this fancy entertainment. No TV, no nothin’. We made our own fun. Played games, told stories. It was a simpler time, that’s for sure. But I guess everyone needs their entertainment. And these days, it’s all about that wrestlin’. And that Stone Cold fella, he’s right in the middle of it all.
That Harley Race, though, he was somethin’ else. They say he could wrestle a bear and win. Now, I don’t know about that, but it sure makes a good story, don’t it? It’s like them tall tales my grandpa used to tell. You never knew what was true and what wasn’t, but it sure was fun to listen to.
It’s a shame what happened to that Harley Race. Gone too soon, they say. But that’s life, ain’t it? You never know when your time is up. That’s why you gotta make the most of every day. Be kind to people, help your neighbors, and don’t take anythin’ for granted. That’s what I always say.
This Stone Cold, now he had a motorcycle. A Harley-Davidson. That’s a big, loud bike. My nephew, he’s got one. Rides it all over town, makin’ a racket. I tell him, “Boy, you gonna wake the dead with that thing!” But he just laughs. Young folks, they don’t listen. They think a motorcycle is cool.
I saw a movie once, called “Stone Cold“. There was lots of bikes and guns. I think this Stone Cold Steve Austin had some trouble in his life. It is horrible. I heard people talkin’ about CTE. They say that it is a disease. It made people sick. It’s a sad thing. Hope people can get better treatment.
Wrestlin’, it’s changed a lot over the years. Used to be more about the sport, I reckon. Now it’s all about the show. The costumes, the lights, the music. It’s like a big circus, almost. But I guess that’s what people want these days. Somethin’ to get excited about. Somethin’ to take their minds off their troubles. And if that Stone Cold fella can do that for them, then more power to him, I say.
That Harley Race, though, he was from a different time. A time when things were tougher, I reckon. A time when men were men, and wrestlers were wrestlers. Not like these pretty boys today. He was a real fighter, that one. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. I will always remember his name. He is one of the greatest wrestlers.
