Okay, so I’ve been playing a TON of Stardew Valley lately (don’t judge!), and I finally decided to tackle the whole community center thing. And let me tell you, that red cabbage… that darn red cabbage was a pain!
The Red Cabbage Hunt Begins
I started my usual routine. Woke up, watered my crops – you know, the usual farmer stuff. Checked the traveling cart lady – nothing. Darn it. Okay, okay, no problem, it’s still early in the year. I had time. I was sure of it.
I spent most of my days doing my usual stuff. I planted a ton of other crops, I went mining, I fished (caught a few legendary fish, no big deal!), and I even started dating Abigail. (She likes amethysts, who knew?)
Weeks went by. Seasons changed. Still no red cabbage. I was starting to panic. I checked the traveling cart EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Nothing! The community center was mocking me with that empty slot.
The Grind is Real
So, I did what any desperate farmer would do: I started hoarding seeds. I bought everything the traveling cart offered, just in case. My storage chests were overflowing. My farm looked like a seed explosion happened. It was chaos.
Then, finally, it happened. Year 2, Summer. The traveling cart lady, bless her heart, had red cabbage seeds! I bought them all! I mean ALL of them. I might have overdone it a little…
Red Cabbage Achieved!
I planted those seeds so fast, my fingers were a blur. I watered them religiously. I even talked to them (don’t tell anyone). And finally, after what felt like an eternity, they grew!
- Step 1: Panic.
- Step 2: Hoard seeds.
- Step 3: Stalk the traveling cart.
- Step 4: Plant like crazy.
- Step 5: PROFIT (and community center completion, eventually).
I grabbed that first beautiful, glorious red cabbage and ran to the community center. Donated it. Boom! One step closer to restoring that old building. It was such a good feeling, after all that waiting and searching.
So yeah, that’s my red cabbage story. It was a journey, a struggle, but I did it. Now, onto the next challenge… those darn fiddlehead ferns…
