Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at Solo Leveling: Arise, and let me tell you, figuring out which weapons to use was a HEADACHE at first. I spent so much time just staring at my screen, totally lost. I started by just picking whatever looked coolest – big mistake, HUGE mistake.
I got wrecked. Like, really wrecked. I kept hitting walls in the story, and those gates? Forget about it. I was burning through potions like they were going out of style and still getting nowhere. That’s when I realized I needed to actually, you know, think about my weapon choices.

My Deep Dive into Weapon Stats
So, I started digging. I mean really digging. I checked out every forum, watched a ton of videos, and even started my own little spreadsheet (nerd alert, I know!). I started listing every weapon, noting down their stats, skills, and any special effects.
I initially focused on the attack stat. I mean, more damage equals faster clears, right? Well, sort of. I quickly discovered that attack speed and crit rate were just as crucial, if not more important in some cases. A weapon with slightly lower attack but blazing-fast attack speed could often outperform a heavy hitter.
Then there were the skills. Oh boy, the skills. Some weapons have these amazing AoE (Area of Effect) skills that just obliterate groups of enemies. Others have powerful single-target attacks that are perfect for bosses. I started experimenting, swapping weapons mid-battle to see what worked best in different situations.
- Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3: I spent hours in the training grounds, just whacking away at those poor dummies. I timed myself, tracked my damage output, and tried different skill rotations. It felt tedious at times, but it was worth it.
- Gate Grinding: The real test came when I started using my newfound knowledge in the gates. I started seeing a HUGE improvement. I was clearing gates faster, using fewer potions, and even tackling higher-level challenges.
The “Aha!” Moment
The biggest “aha!” moment came when I started paying attention to the weapon’s “Break” capabilities. Some weapons are absolute beasts at breaking enemy shields, while others are pretty useless. Using a Break-focused weapon on a shielded enemy made a world of difference. It was like night and day.
It’s still a work in progress, my personal tier list keep changing every time because of the constant updates and new weapons. But now at least have a good base now, I now have more weapons than I know what to do with, and I’m finally feeling like I’m making some real progress. My Sung Jinwoo is finally starting to feel like the overpowered hunter he’s supposed to be!
