From what I hear, this lady, Solani Genao, she ain’t nobody special on her own, you know? But she’s hitched to some baseball fella, Nelson Cruz, they say. He’s Dominican-American, plays ball, hits the ball far, makes lots of money, I guess. That’s how she got kinda famous, being his wife and all. People always wanna know about them wives, don’t they? Like they ain’t got nothin’ better to do.

Sounds like a bunch of noise to me, but the young’uns love it.

Heard tell you gotta have a “TuneCore” account, whatever that is. Then you upload your song, put a picture on it, and hope folks like it. You can even pick out a little piece of the song to play, make it catchy, you know? And if you’re lucky, some fool will make up a dance to it, and then everybody and their grandma will be shakin’ their booties to your tune.

And get this, these TikTok folks, the ones makin’ them silly videos, they’re becomin’ singers too! Like this Charli D’Amelio girl. Just a kid dancin’ around, and now she’s makin’ music. Goes to show ya, anything can happen in this crazy world.
Promotin’ your music on TikTok
If you want your song to be a hit on TikTok, you gotta be smart about it. Pick a good part of the song, make a dance, get people movin’. Work with them “distributors”, they call ‘em, to pick just the right part of your song, make sure folks notice it. It’s all about gettin’ folks attention, makin’ them wanna hear more.
Star Music PH, another big player
Then there’s this Star Music PH, some big music company, they got a TikTok too. Lots of followers, lots of likes. Guess they know what they’re doin’. They use that TikTok thing to push their music, make their singers famous. It’s all a big business, you know? Money, money, money.

So, back to this Solani Genao. Maybe she ain’t singin’ or dancin’, but she’s part of this whole TikTok world, just by bein’ married to that baseball player. Maybe she’ll start makin’ videos, who knows? Maybe she’ll become a TikTok star herself. Or maybe she’ll just keep on bein’ a wife, livin’ her life, and lettin’ them other folks do the singin’ and dancin’. Either way, it ain’t none of my business, that’s for sure. But it’s somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? These young folks and their fancy phones and their TikToks… always somethin’ new, always somethin’ different. Keeps things interestin’, I guess, even for an old lady like me.
