Alright, so I decided it was finally time to craft that Fontaine catalyst, the Flowing Purity. Heard some decent things about it, and honestly, I just wanted to make one of the new weapons myself, you know? See how it goes.
Getting Started: The Grind
First things first, I needed the blueprint. Had to do that Narzissenkreuz Ordo world quest chain. Took a bit of time, running around, solving puzzles, the usual stuff. Got the ‘Diagram: Flowing Purity’ eventually.

Then came the real headache: the Midlander Catalyst Billet. Man, those weekly bosses. I swear, they just hoard these things. Ran Trounce Domains week after week. Felt like forever until one finally dropped a catalyst billet. Pure luck, I guess.
Okay, billet secured. Next up, materials:
- Condessence Crystals: Needed 50 of these. Spent a good chunk of time just wandering around Fontaine, especially near underwater areas and those rocky shores. Found myself just smashing every reddish crystal I saw. Took a while, but got there.
- White Iron Chunks: Needed 50 of these too. Luckily, I usually grab ores whenever I see them, so I had a pretty good stockpile already. Didn’t really have to go out of my way for these, which was nice.
- Mora: 50,000 Mora. Not too bad, considering how much other stuff costs in this game.
Heading to the Forge
With everything gathered – the blueprint learned, the elusive billet in hand, and pockets full of crystals and chunks – I decided to head over to the blacksmith. Since it’s a Fontaine weapon, I figured I’d visit Estelle at the Court of Fontaine. Seemed fitting.
Talked to her, chose the ‘I’d like to commission a weapon’ option. Scrolled through the list… there it was, Flowing Purity. Looked pretty slick in the preview.
Crafting Time
Selected the blueprint. The interface showed the required materials. I slotted in the Midlander Catalyst Billet – felt good to finally use it. Then added the 50 Condessence Crystals and 50 White Iron Chunks. The Mora cost popped up.
Took a deep breath and hit ‘Craft’. Watched the little animation, the sparks flying. Didn’t take long, just a few seconds really.

The Result: Flowing Purity Acquired
And there it was! The Flowing Purity catalyst, fresh off the forge. Looked quite nice, clean design, very Fontaine-esque with the blue and white.
Immediately checked it out in my inventory. The stats seemed okay, especially that HP-based Bond of Life effect. Could be interesting for characters who can heal themselves or have HP scaling, maybe? Thinking it might work on Wriothesley or perhaps even someone like Yanfei if I build her differently.
So yeah, that was the whole process. The biggest hurdle was definitely getting that billet. The rest was just standard material gathering. Now comes the part where I actually level it up and see how it performs in combat. But hey, feels good to have crafted it myself.
