Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Lethal Company lately, and I got hooked on customizing my ship. Specifically, I wanted to get some cool cosmetics going. Let me tell you, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought, but I figured it out, and I’m here to spill the beans.
Finding the Goods
First things first, I needed to find where the game stores all the stuff, you know? I poked around the game files, but I eventually looked at the modding scene. That’s where all the cool stuff is. Turns out, there are other people who want to go beyond the default options and create custom experiences.
Getting My Hands Dirty
I downloaded a mod manager, the one for Lethal Company. I think the most popular now is r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager, but there are probably others.
With mod manager downloaded, and Lethal Company installed, I started a new profile.
- Download it. I got it and ran the installer. Pretty standard stuff.
- Select Lethal CompanyIt should automatically find your Lethal Company.
- Create Profile.I made a new profile to keep things tidy.
- Find the mod you want. Now you can search.
Installing the Mods
Once I found a cool mod, hitting “Install” was all it took. The manager handled everything – downloading the files, putting them in the right place, the whole shebang. I didn’t have to mess with any config files or anything like that. Thank goodness!
The Moment of Truth
After I grabbed a couple of cosmetic mods,I loaded a save game. I fired up the game, hopped into my ship, and boom! There they were. My ship was looking way more unique, way more me. It was awesome.
Some Extra Tips
Here’s a few things I picked up along the way:
- Read the descriptions. Seriously, some mods might conflict with others, or they might need specific settings. Save yourself a headache and read what the mod creator says.
- Backup your save. You never know, might as well be safe.
- Start small. Don’t go crazy installing a hundred mods at once. Add a few, test them out, make sure everything’s working, then add more.
So yeah, that’s how I pimped out my ship in Lethal Company. It took a little bit of research and some trial and error, but it was totally worth it. Now, I’m scavenging scrap in style!
