Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this “Shape of Valor” thing in Genshin Impact, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I heard about this Emblem of Steadfast Valor event, and it sounded interesting, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
Getting Started
First off, I needed to actually get into the event. It’s part of the 5.3 update, the one with that “Springtime Charms” Lantern Rite thing. I found out that the event kicked off on January 9th, 2025, and it runs until January 20th, so there’s a limited time window to do everything. I made sure to mark my calendar because I didn’t want to miss out.
Team Building
Next up was picking my team. I’ve seen people online saying that Neuvillette is the real deal, apparently, he is the strongest character in the game right now, and he’s not too hard to build. So, I put him in. Then there’s Xingqiu, who’s a beast both offensively and defensively. To keep everyone alive, I threw in Zhongli and Noelle because I know they’re good at that kind of thing. Heard that these two are perfect for beginners like me. I also heard that Xingqiu and Xiangling are good options, and since you can get Xiangling for free in the Abyss, I might as well use her, right?
Event Challenges
So, the event itself has these challenges where you have to meet goals within a certain time and grab these Trial Coins. I dove into a few of these, and man, they can get pretty intense. I tried my best to collect as many coins as I could, but it wasn’t easy. I had to do a bunch of these to get the Emblem of Valor, which is basically a quest item.
Working on Quests
I also got involved in some other quest, I think it’s called “Narration Footnotes” or something. There’s this thing called the “Oracle Pillar’s Picture” that I had to complete, which was kind of a three-part deal. It was all about copying this “Shape of Valor.” This quest was a bit of a head-scratcher, but I eventually figured it out after a few tries. I had to do these during the Emblem of Steadfast Valor event, it took me some time to get it done.
Grabbing Rewards
There are also rewards, obviously. One thing I’m eyeing is the new outfit for Xiangling, which looks pretty sweet. Plus, you can get a free 4-star character, which is always nice. I made sure to keep an eye out for anything that could help me power up my characters or get cool stuff.
Unobtainable Characters
While I was digging around, I found out there are a few characters you can’t get through the usual Character Event Wishes or Weapon Event Wishes. They’re only available during specific events, like “The Outlander Who Caught the Wind.” I made a mental note to keep an eye out for those in the future, gotta catch ’em all, you know?
Weapon Choice
I also saw this weapon called “Starcaller’s Watch”. It is a catalyst and looks pretty good. It has a base ATK of 44 and a bonus effect of Elemental Mastery +58. Its skill is called “Offering Unto Wind and Sun” and it increases Elemental Mastery. I thought about using this on my team, but I’m not sure if it’s the best choice. Maybe I’ll give it a try later.
Final Thoughts
All in all, this “Shape of Valor” experience has been quite the adventure. I’ve been grinding, strategizing, and trying to make the most of this event. There’s still a lot to do, but I’m having fun with it. I can see why people get hooked on this game. It’s got a little bit of everything. I’m going to keep at it and see what other surprises Genshin Impact has in store.
