Alright, so today I tackled the mandatory bosses in “Shadow of the Erdtree.” Man, what a day! I started this morning feeling pretty confident, you know? I mean, I’ve played through the base game, beat all those bosses, so I figured, how much harder could the DLC bosses be? Famous last words, right?
First off, I had to figure out where to even start. It seems like there’s no hand-holding in this game! Eventually I made my way to the Gravesite Plain. The atmosphere there? Totally creepy. It felt like something was watching me the whole time. And the enemies? Don’t even get me started on these guys. They hit way harder than I expected.
The first mandatory boss I encountered gave me a good old-fashioned beat down. I thought I had my strategy down, but this dude had other plans. It was a real struggle. I tried to keep my distance, used my trusty spells, but it kept closing in, and its attacks were just relentless. I finally managed to take it down after, I don’t know, like ten tries? My hands were shaking. I won’t even tell you how many runes I lost.
After that, I decided to explore a bit more and see if I could find any of those Scadutree Fragments everyone’s talking about. Found a few, thankfully. They give you a nice little boost. I figured I needed every advantage I could get. Oh, I also found some of those Revered Spirit Ashes. Pretty neat, though I haven’t quite figured out how to use them effectively yet.
Then it was off to the Southern Shore. Let me tell you, this place is no picnic either. I ran into another boss there, and well, it didn’t go much better than the first. I did manage to figure out its attack patterns a bit better this time, but man, it was still tough. I eventually beat it, but not without using up all my healing flasks.
- Gravesite Plain
- Southern Shore
- Rauh Ruins
- Scadu Altus
- Shadow Keep
Next up, I ventured into the Rauh Ruins. I was feeling a bit more confident after taking down those first two bosses, but this place quickly humbled me. There’s this one boss in there, in particular, that is just brutal. It’s got this wide range and these area-of-effect attacks that are really hard to dodge. I haven’t beaten it yet, I’m ashamed to say. I need to grind a bit more and try to find a better strategy.
Finally, I made my way to Scadu Altus, and the Shadow Keep within it. This place is massive and I’m sure I will spend a few days there. But I haven’t made it to any bosses there yet. The regular enemies there are tough enough, I’ll probably spend a couple days there.
So, yeah, that’s been my experience so far with the mandatory bosses in “Shadow of the Erdtree.” It’s been a wild ride, to say the least. I’m definitely getting my butt kicked, but I’m also having a blast. There’s just something so satisfying about finally taking down one of these bosses after struggling for so long.
I’ll keep you guys updated on my progress. For now, I’m going to go rest my weary thumbs. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it!
