Okay, here’s my blog post about trying to get that Randy Orton haircut:
So, I’ve always thought Randy Orton, you know, the WWE wrestler, has a pretty cool haircut. It’s simple, kinda tough-looking, and seems pretty low maintenance. I decided, “Why not? Let’s give it a shot.” My hair was getting a bit long anyway, so it was time for a change.
First off, I gathered some pictures of Randy from different angles. I wanted to get a good idea of the cut from all sides. This is important, you gotta know what you’re aiming for, right?
Next, I headed to my usual barber. I’ve been going to this guy for years, he’s pretty good with the clippers. I showed him the pictures and explained what I wanted. I emphasized that I wanted it short on the sides and back, but with a bit of length on top to style. We talked about it for a bit, he seemed to get it. He said he has some customers asked for the same style before. Cool.
He started with the clippers on the sides and back. I asked for a low fade, nothing too crazy. He worked his way around, making sure it was all even. I could feel the hair falling away, it was kinda satisfying, to be honest.
- He used a number 2 guard on the clippers for the sides and back.
- He used scissors to trim the top, keeping it longer than the sides.
- He blended the top and sides together so it didn’t look too disconnected.
- He used a bit of product to style it at the end.
He then moved to the top, trimming it with scissors. He kept it longer in the front and tapered it down towards the back. I watched closely as he blended the top with the sides, making sure it flowed naturally.
After he was done cutting, he washed my hair and styled it a bit. He used some kind of pomade or something, I’m not really sure. He pushed my hair forward and to the side a bit, kinda like how Randy wears it.
When I finally looked in the mirror, I was pretty happy with it. It wasn’t exactly like Randy’s, my hair’s a bit different, but it was close enough. It felt good to have a fresh, clean cut. I think it would be better if my hair is straight, but mine is a bit wavy. It is a bit hard to keep it the same as Randy’s. Maybe I should buy some new products.
Overall, I’d say it was a success. I got a cool new haircut, and it was a fun little experiment. If you’re thinking about trying it, I say go for it! Just make sure you communicate clearly with your barber, and you should be good. Rock on!
