Alright, so I’ve been hyped for “Ghost of Tsushima” coming to PC, like, forever. Finally, the preload option popped up, and I jumped on it immediately. Here’s how it all went down, step-by-step, for those who are as eager as I was.
Getting Started
First things first, I launched Steam. I mean, that’s where the magic happens, right? Made sure I was logged in, obviously. Then I navigated to my Library. It’s usually pretty cluttered with games I intend to play, but “Ghost of Tsushima” was already pre-ordered, so it was sitting pretty near the top.

The Preload Hunt
I clicked on “Ghost of Tsushima” in my library. Now, this part was a little tricky at first. I was scanning the page, looking for a big, obvious “PRELOAD” button. It wasn’t immediately obvious, which threw me for a loop for a second.
Instead of a dedicated button, I noticed that the usual “Play” button (which is normally grayed out before release) was replaced with a blue “Pre-load” button. Yeah, they hid it in plain sight! I almost missed it.
Clicking and Waiting
So, naturally, I smashed that “Pre-load” button. A window popped up, showing the usual Steam download stuff – you know, the disk space required (which was a hefty chunk, by the way!), the estimated download time, and all that jazz.
- Checked the download location: I always double-check this, just in case I accidentally fill up my main drive.
- Confirmed the download: Hit the button to start the download.
- Waited… and waited… and waited. My internet’s decent, but this was a big file. Time for coffee!
Success!
After what felt like an eternity (but was probably just a couple of hours), the download finished. Steam did its usual “unpacking” thing, which took a bit more time. But eventually, the “Pre-load” button changed to “Play” (still grayed out, of course, since it’s not officially released yet).
And that’s it! Now I’m all set. Just waiting for the official release time so I can finally dive in. I’m so ready to explore Tsushima Island on my PC! Hope this helps anyone else who was a little confused about the preload process.
