Okay, so I’ve been messing around with different Arishem decks in Marvel Snap, trying to find something that really clicks. It’s been a journey, let me tell you! I started out just throwing in all the big cards, you know, the usual suspects like Giganto and The Infinaut. Figured, “Hey, Arishem makes big cards cheap, so let’s go big or go home!”
That… did not work. I got stomped. Hard. Turns out, just having big cards isn’t enough. You need some kind of strategy, some way to actually, you know, play them.

First Attempts: Failures
- Big Cards Only: Total disaster. No synergy, no early game, just a bunch of expensive cards sitting in my hand.
- Adding Ramp: I thought, “Okay, let’s add some ramp cards like Electro and Wave.” Better, but still clunky. I’d get one big card out, maybe two, and then get overrun.
The Turning Point: Adding Control
Then I realized I needed some control elements. I needed ways to disrupt my opponent, to buy myself time to get Arishem and my big threats out. That’s when things started to get interesting.
I started experimenting with cards like:
- Armor: Protects other import locations, and save 1 drops from Killmonger.
- Cosmo: Shuts down those pesky on-reveal effects.
- Shang-Chi: Goodbye, enemy big cards!
- Leech Remove all abilities from cards in both players’ hands.
Building a List
The best deck I’ve built, the cards are as follow:
- Sunspot
- Armor
- Cosmo
- Jubilee
- Leech
- Arishem
- Red Skull
- America Chavez
- The Infinaut
- Giganto
- Death
Pulling Jubilee is a fun way to try to pull some big cards. Using Red Skull will also increase 5 power on your opponent location, it will be a huge burden if your opponent have already had some big ones on board.
I’m still tweaking and experimenting, so I am going to try to add some other cards to test the result. But this approach – combining big threats with control and disruption – has been way more successful than anything else I’ve tried. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m finally feeling like I’m getting somewhere with Arishem!
