Okay, let’s talk about this weird door business over at the Tanit Camp.
Finding the darn thing
So, I was wandering around the desert, you know, doing my usual stuff, collecting bits and bobs, checking out the scenery near the Tanit place. Been spending a lot of time there lately, trying to get in good with the folks there. Anyway, I ended up near one of the tents, sort of tucked away, and noticed this door. Looked kinda important, sturdy, definitely not just decoration.

First attempts – Nothin’
Naturally, first thing I did was walk right up to it. Pushed the interact button. Nothing happened. No prompt, no message saying “locked” or anything. Just… solid door. Okay, fair enough. Sometimes you need a switch or something nearby.
I started looking around the immediate area. Scanned the walls, checked behind some crates nearby, looked up, looked down. Zero. No shiny switches, no weird symbols that needed activating, no pressure plates I could see. It was just a door sitting there, mocking me.
Maybe it needs a little ‘push’?
Alright, plan B. Sometimes things react to elements or a good whack. I switched characters. Tried blasting it with some Anemo. Nothing. Set the ground nearby on fire with Pyro. Nope. Gave it a few whacks with a claymore. Still nothing. The door just sat there, completely unimpressed. It was definitely not opening through brute force or simple tricks.
Thinking time and giving up (for now)
At this point, I figured this door wasn’t something you just stumble upon and open. My best guess? It’s probably tied to a specific quest. Maybe one I haven’t started yet, or maybe one that progresses further after doing more stuff for the Tanit tribe. You know how these things go – you need to reach a certain point in a story before some areas unlock.
So, what did I actually do?
- Found the door near the Tanit Camp tents.
- Tried interacting directly – failed.
- Searched the immediate vicinity for switches or mechanisms – found none.
- Used different elemental attacks on it – no effect.
- Hit it with weapons – no effect.
- Concluded it’s likely quest-locked.
So yeah, that’s the story of the unopenable door at the Tanit Camp for me. Spent a good few minutes poking around it, trying different things, but it wouldn’t budge. For now, I’ve just marked it on my mental map and moved on. I assume I’ll get back to it eventually when some quest points me that way. Until then, it remains stubbornly shut. Kinda annoying, but also makes you curious, right?
