Okay, let’s talk about how I put together this Mobile Legends tier list for 2024. It wasn’t just pulling names out of a hat, took a fair bit of time actually playing and thinking things through.
Getting Started: The Grind
First off, I just played the game. A whole lot. Like, seriously, logged way more hours than I probably should have these last few weeks. Mostly stuck to ranked matches because that’s where you see what’s really working, you know? People try harder there. I needed to get a real feel for the current meta, which heroes felt strong, which ones felt like dead weight.

I jumped between roles too. Played some tank, some mage, tried jungling, even filled support when needed. Had to see the game from different angles. Can’t just make a list based on playing Marksman all day, right?
Sorting Things Out: Roles and Drafts
After getting a good amount of games in, I started organizing my thoughts. The first step was breaking it down by the usual roles. Made it easier to manage.
- Tank
- Fighter
- Assassin
- Mage
- Marksman
- Support
I literally just opened a text file and started dumping hero names under these categories. Didn’t worry about tiers yet, just getting them grouped.
The Hard Part: Ranking ‘Em Up
This is where the real work began. I started placing the heroes into tiers. I went with a pretty standard S, A, B, C, D ranking. Makes sense to most people.
The S-tier was kinda easy. These are the heroes you see banned constantly or picked immediately. The ones that just feel overtuned right now. If a hero felt oppressive in most matches, they went here.
The D-tier was also relatively straightforward. Heroes that just don’t seem to fit anywhere, get countered easily, or feel significantly underpowered compared to others in their role.

Now, the A and B tiers… that was a headache. So many heroes are viable, but how good are they really? I spent a lot of time thinking about:
- Consistency: How reliable are they?
- Team Fight Impact: Do they swing fights?
- Ease of Use vs. Potential: Are they good for average players or only pros?
- Current Meta Fit: Do they work well with other strong heroes?
I actually went back and specifically played heroes I was unsure about. Sometimes I’d dominate and think “Okay, maybe this guy is A-tier.” Other times I’d get completely shut down and realize “Nope, B-tier at best.” Lots of trial and error.
Refining and Finalizing
I looked at some general stats, like pick rates and ban rates in high-rank games, just as a sanity check. But I didn’t rely on stats alone, because my own game experience was the main driver. Sometimes stats don’t tell the whole story.
I let the list sit for a day or two, then came back to it with fresh eyes. Moved a couple of heroes around after rethinking their matchups or impact. Argued with myself internally quite a bit – “Is this fighter really better than that one?” It’s subjective, you know?
Finally, I got it to a place where I felt comfortable sharing it. It’s based on my playtime, my observations, and trying to be as objective as possible about the state of the game right now, early in 2024.
So, I cleaned up my messy notes, structured it properly with the tiers for each role, and here we are. It’s how I see things currently. Hope this walkthrough of my process makes sense and the list itself is useful for your games!
