Today, I wanted to play around with finding some nice spots, you know, like those places that just feel good. I’ve heard people talk about “bliss locations,” so I figured, why not try to find some myself? I’m calling this little project “excerpts of bliss locations.”
Getting Started
First, I needed a way to, like, actually find these places. I grabbed my phone and opened up a maps app, nothing special, just the regular one everyone uses.

The Search Begins
I just started scrolling around my neighborhood. I wasn’t looking for anything specific, just, like, places that looked kinda green or had water.
- Park #1: I zoomed in on a small park nearby. It looked okay on the map, a few trees, a path. I figured I’d check it out.
- Waterfront Trail: Then I saw a trail that followed a river. That seemed promising, water is usually pretty chill.
- Hidden Garden: I also noticed a small area marked as a community garden tucked away between some buildings. Could be a hidden gem!
Exploring the Spots
I hopped on my bike. First stop, the little park. It was alright. There were some kids playing, which wasn’t exactly “blissful” for me at that moment, but I sat on a bench for a bit and just, you know, looked at the trees. It was… pleasant. Not quite bliss, though.
Next, I cycled to the waterfront trail. Now this was more like it. The sound of the water, the breeze, the ducks doing their duck thing… yeah, this felt good. I found a quiet spot by the riverbank and just sat there for a while, listening to the water and watching the clouds. Definitely closer to bliss.
Finally, I went to check out that community garden. It was actually pretty cool. Really small, but full of flowers and plants. It felt very peaceful and secluded. It’s a hidden gem that is close to a bliss location.
The Verdict
Okay, so, out of the three places, the waterfront trail was the winner for me today. It just had that “vibe,” you know? The community garden was a close second, though. The first park was fine, but not really what I was looking for.
This was a fun little experiment. I’m going to keep trying this, exploring different places and seeing what I can find. It’s like a treasure hunt, but for good feelings. Who needs gold when you’ve got bliss, right?
