Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about my recent little adventure trying to catch the Nationals vs. Phillies game. I’m not the most tech-savvy guy, but I do love my baseball, and this matchup was one I was really looking forward to.
So, first things first, I needed to figure out where this game was even being broadcast. I did a little digging and found out that the channel depends on whether you’re in the local market or not. If you’re in the market, it’s usually on NBCSP or NBCSP+, sometimes even NBC 10. Out of market? Then it’s probably MLB Network.
I also learned that the radio broadcast is almost always on 94WIP, and for some games, you can also catch it on WDEL 101.7 FM/1150 AM. Pretty straightforward, right?
But here’s where it gets interesting. I was at my buddy’s place, and we wanted to stream it. He’s got this Hulu + Live TV thing, which is supposed to have all the games. We hunted around on there for a bit, but it wasn’t as easy to find as I thought it would be. He showed me they also have baseball movies, shows, and documentaries besides the games, but we just wanted to watch the game!
After a bit of trial and error, we finally got the game on. I think it ended up being on MASN, which is the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network. I guess that’s where they show the Nationals games around here.
- Checked the TV schedule online.
- Tried to find it on Hulu + Live TV.
- Found it on MASN.
The Game Itself
Once we got the stream going, it was smooth sailing. The game was a good one, lots of back-and-forth. These two teams always put on a show when they play each other. And I gotta say, watching it with my buddy made it even better. We were yelling at the screen, celebrating the good plays, and groaning at the bad ones – just like you’re supposed to do!
The Nationals probably won’t make the playoffs in 2025, which is a bummer, but I’m really enjoying the games they have this season. And that’s why I wanted to share this little experience. It wasn’t just about finding the right channel or stream; it was about the whole process of getting ready for the game, figuring it out with a friend, and then enjoying the heck out of it. Baseball, man, it’s the best!
