Man, you won’t believe the rollercoaster I’ve been on lately. It all started back in September 2023. I was just going about my business, you know, wrestling with WWE, giving it my all every time I stepped into the ring. Seven years, man. Seven years I poured my heart and soul into that place. Then, out of the blue, bam! WWE let me go.
It was right after that whole merger thing with Endeavor to form TKO. I guess they were shaking things up, and I was one of the pieces that didn’t fit anymore. You think you’re part of the family, and then one day, you’re just… not. It stings, I won’t lie.
So, there I was, a free agent. It was a weird feeling. On one hand, I was bummed, obviously. But on the other hand, it was like a whole new world of possibilities opened up. I started thinking about what I really wanted to do, where I wanted to take my career next.
I even shared a little sneak peek of my plans, a photo of me backstage somewhere. Got people talking, wondering what Mustafa Ali’s next move would be. The buzz was kind of cool, I gotta admit.
Then, January 6th rolled around, and I stepped back into the ring. Not in WWE, but at an independent event. Man, the crowd was electric. It felt good to be back, doing what I love. I even cut this emotional promo, just letting it all out. It was raw, it was real, and it was exactly what I needed.
But the real kicker came when I was working on this documentary. We were talking about all the ups and downs, and I opened up about something that happened right around the time I got released. See, my wife needed urgent neck surgery. Can you believe the timing? I’m dealing with the shock of losing my job, and then this happens. It was tough, man, really tough.
What’s Next for Me?
People have been asking me if I was surprised by the whole WWE release thing. Honestly? Yeah, I was. Especially because I had just been on “WWE NXT”, and there was all this talk about the CW Network deal. Thought I was part of something big, you know?
And then there’s the whole Retribution thing. Leading that group was… well, let’s just say it wasn’t easy. I had my struggles, and I talked about them in an interview. It’s all out there now.
But you know what? I’m not letting any of this keep me down. I’m Mustafa Ali, and I’ve got a lot left to give. This is just a new chapter, a chance to reinvent myself and show the world what I’m really capable of. So, keep an eye out, because I’m just getting started.
Here’s a little breakdown of what I’ve been up to:
- Got released from WWE in September 2023.
- Became a free agent and started thinking about my future.
- Returned to wrestling at an independent event on January 6th.
- Opened up about my wife’s surgery and the challenges I faced.
- Reflected on my time in WWE, including the Retribution storyline.
- Started planning my next move in the wrestling world.
It’s been a wild ride, but I’m excited for what’s to come. Thanks for sticking with me, folks. It means the world.
