Okay, so, yesterday I was digging into this whole Mike Bell UFC thing. You know, the judge? Yeah, that guy. I’ve been following UFC for a while, and this name, Mike Bell, keeps popping up, especially after that Grasso-Shevchenko fight. I mean, the scorecards from that one had everyone talking, right? So, I started to dig into it.
First, I just Googled “Mike Bell UFC judge”. Loads of stuff came up, mostly forum posts and some news articles about the controversies. It’s a bit messy, but it gave me a general idea of what people were saying. A lot of folks were really unhappy with his scoring, particularly in that Grasso-Shevchenko rematch. It seems like he gave Grasso a 10-8 in the fifth, which a lot of people thought was crazy.
Then I looked into BKFC, you know, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, because I saw a mention of someone moving from UFC to there. Turns out a fighter named Perry went over there, but I couldn’t find much on why he left. Seemed kinda sudden. I will need to look it up later.
After that, I tried to find out more about how UFC judges score fights. I mean, how does it even work? It’s way more complex than I thought! They’ve got this whole system, and it’s not just about who’s winning, but by how much, and there are all these rules and criteria. It’s not easy, right?
Then I stumbled upon something totally unexpected. I saw a mention of a Michael Bell who passed away in 2021. I’m not sure if it’s the same guy, but it made me pause for a second. It is not fun if they are the same one.
And then, bam, I saw another thing about some bigwig, a voice guy, who apparently left the UFC after, like, 20 years. It sounds like it wasn’t a very friendly goodbye. Lots of drama, I guess. I just feel it will be another big news for UFC.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at now. It started with Mike Bell’s judging, and now I’ve gone down this rabbit hole of UFC judging, fighter moves, and some old-timer leaving the organization. I guess that is my whole afternoon. I feel I know more about UFC now, but I still want to know what happened about the voice guy. I will find out more tomorrow!
