Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about “Iron Cavalry” in Honkai: Star Rail (HSR), and I figured I’d dive in and see what all the fuss was about. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure what it was at first – a new character? A game mode? Turns out, it’s a pretty cool set of Relics.
First, I googled it, just to get a basic understanding. Found some guides and stuff, but most of it was just…numbers. I wanted to actually try it out, you know?

So, I jumped into the game. I already had a few characters that seemed like they might work well with this set, specifically ones that rely on Break Effect. My Seele felt like a natural fit, given her whole Quantum damage and Break potential. I wanted some more so bad!
My Farming Expedition
Next up: farming. Oh boy, the grind. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon running the Caverns of Corrosion, over and over. It’s that Path of Darkness one, if you’re wondering. Honestly, it’s kind of a pain, but hey, that’s gacha games for you.
I got a few pieces pretty quickly, but of course, they weren’t perfect. The substats were all over the place. I kept at it, though, fueled by the hope of that one god-tier piece that would make all the difference. I also tried using them for my Jing Yuan. What a perfect combination!
The Results (So Far)
- 2-Piece Set: This gives a nice little Break Effect boost. Nothing crazy, but every bit helps.
- 4-Piece Set: This is where things get interesting. It ignores a chunk of the enemy’s DEF when you’re attacking a Broken enemy. That’s huge for damage output.
I managed to get a decent 4-piece set for Seele, and I have to say, I’m seeing a difference. Her Break damage is definitely higher, and she’s clearing content faster. I’m still working on getting better substats, but it’s a work in progress.
I also experimented a bit with putting the 2-piece set on some other characters, just to see if the Break Effect bonus was worthwhile. It’s…okay. Nothing to write home about, but it’s a decent option if you don’t have anything better.
Overall, I’d say the Iron Cavalry set is definitely worth checking out if you’re building a Break Effect-focused team. It’s not a miracle cure, but it can definitely give you a nice boost. Just be prepared for the farming grind! It’s a long and winding path to those good relics!
