Alright, so I wanted to figure out this whole “cleanse a debuff” thing with Batman in MultiVersus. I’d seen some folks online talking about it, and honestly, I was getting wrecked by debuffs all the time. Time to get gud, right?
Experiment Time!
First, I jumped into the lab. Gotta get familiar with the moves, you know? I picked Batman, obviously, and set the opponent to Harley Quinn, figuring she’s got some nasty debuffs I could practice with.

I spent a good chunk of time just messing around with Batman’s moves. I was reading through his move list, trying to find anything that mentioned “cleanse” or removing debuffs. Nothing obvious jumped out, which was kinda frustrating.
The “Aha!” Moment (Maybe?)
Then I remembered seeing something about Batman’s smoke bomb. It makes sense. I thought, “Maybe, the smoke bomb can clear the status?”.
- I tried using the smoke bomb (Down Special on the ground) right after Harley tagged me with her confetti bomb.
- I also tested using it before she hit me, like a pre-emptive thing.
- I experimented with different timings, like, right as the debuff animation started, a little after, stuff like that.
- Used neutral special (Batarang) that can clear projectiles to try it.
It’s a constant back and forth, trying to perfect it, and my timing definitely needs * it clears projectiles, and that’s a big win in my book.
So, that’s where I’m at. Still practicing, still learning. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Gotta put in the work to get those wins. I’m get it!
