Alright, let’s talk about this tennis match, you know, the one with them girls, Kostyuk and Avanesyan. Heard it was quite a thing, lots of folks watchin’.
Kostyuk versus Avanesyan, that’s what they called it. Sounded fancy, like them city folks talkin’. Anyway, they played in Wuhan, China. China! Can you believe it? That’s far, far away from my ol’ farm, I tell ya.
They played on somethin’ called a “hard court.” Don’t know much about that, but I reckon it’s like a real tough ground, not like my soft dirt in the garden.
- Match was on October 8th, they said. Tuesday, it was. I was busy feedin’ the chickens, didn’t see it myself.
- Heard it was the Round of 64. Sounds like a lot of rounds to me, must be important.
- Started at 13:00 UTC time. Don’t know what that “UTC” stuff is, sounds like more city folks talkin’. I go by the sun, when it’s up, it’s time to work, when it goes down, time to rest.
Folks could watch it live on somethin’ called “ESPN+” and “Fubo.” Sounded like you needed some fancy box to see it. Me? I just watch the birds flyin’ by, that’s my entertainment.
Now, about them girls… Avanesyan, that’s one of ’em. And Kostyuk, that’s the other. Don’t know nothin’ about ‘em, never met ‘em. But I hear they’re good at hittin’ that little yellow ball. Back and forth, back and forth, must be tiring.
They say there was a “live stream.” Sounds like a river flowin’ live, but it ain’t. It’s like watchin’ it on a magic window, they tell me. Don’t trust them magic windows, I do. Prefer to see things with my own two eyes.
This match was part of somethin’ called the “WTA Wuhan, China Women Singles 2024.” WTA, huh? Lots of letters these days. Can’t keep up. And it was in the “Center Court” stadium. Big place, I guess. Bigger than my barn, for sure.
Some folks, they keep track of all the points and stuff. “Head to head results” and “statistics,” they call it. Too much thinkin’ for me. I just care about whether the hens are layin’ eggs and if the crops are growin’.
Seems like this Kostyuk girl and Avanesyan girl, they’ve played before. People keepin’ score, always keepin’ score. I just hope they had fun, them girls. Runnin’ around, hittin’ that ball. Good exercise, I reckon.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Kostyuk versus Avanesyan thing. Lots of fuss for a game, if you ask me. But folks like what they like, I guess. Me? I’ll stick to my farm, thank you very much. It’s real, it’s honest, and it keeps me busy. And that’s more than enough for this ol’ lady.
Heard they might play again sometime. Maybe I’ll be too busy milkin’ the cows to notice.
