Alright, so, I’ve been digging into this Kirby Connell guy, trying to figure out what his deal is for the 2024 MLB draft. He’s a pitcher, you know, from the University of Tennessee. He seems to be a promising character, but not sure whether he’s an expert or something.
First off, I started by just searching his name online. You know how it is, type it into the search bar, see what pops up. I found a few articles talking about him, some stats, and his position, you know, the usual stuff. He’s got this nickname, “Vollie Fingers” or something, because of his mustache, which I thought was kind of funny.
Then, I started looking into the 2024 MLB draft in general, you know, to see where he might fit in. There’s a whole bunch of names being thrown around, lots of prospects, and it’s kind of hard to keep track of them all. One day, I found that a guy, Leodalis De Vries, is the bridge from international signing day to Top 100, which means the competition between those young pitchers is tough.
I watched some videos of this Connell guy pitching. He’s got a decent arm, I’ll give him that. But I’m not sure if he’s got that “it” factor, you know what I mean? Like, he’s good, but is he really good? I even tried to find some comparisons to other players, just to get a better idea of his potential. I spent hours on this, I’m telling you!
I also looked at some mock drafts, you know, those things where people try to predict who’s gonna get picked where. Sometimes his name was there, sometimes it wasn’t. It’s all just speculation at this point, but it’s still interesting to see what people are thinking.
- Checked out some draft podcasts: I listened to some podcasts where they talk about the draft lottery and stuff. They mentioned winners and losers, and even did a mock draft for 2025. Connell’s name came up a couple of times, but nothing too concrete. On December 13th, I remembered there was a podcast talking about all things MLB draft lottery. I should have noted it down, but, oh well.
- Dug into some rankings: There are these rankings of college draft prospects, right? I checked out the latest ones, and they had Connell in there, but not super high up. The top three spots were taken by some other guys: Jace LaViolette, Tyler Bremner, and Jamie Arnold. Sounds like Connell’s got some tough competition.
Honestly, after all this digging, I’m still not 100% sure what to think about this Kirby Connell guy. He seems like a decent pitcher, but the draft is such a gamble. Only time will tell if he makes it big or not. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in 2024!
