Okay, let’s talk about my weight loss thing. It’s not some big secret or anything, just something I decided to do for myself. It was back in 2019, I took some time off, and I thought, “Why not use this time to get in better shape?”
So, I started eating better. I cut down on the junk food and focused more on eating real, whole foods. Less processed crap, more good stuff like lean protein, fruits, and veggies. It wasn’t easy at first, I ain’t gonna lie. I mean, I really like pizza. But I stuck with it, and it got easier over time.
I also started moving more. I wasn’t hitting the gym like crazy or anything, but I made sure to get some activity in every day. Walks, jogs, whatever I felt like doing. I used to not exercise much back in the day, which is probably why I was overweight in the first place. Some people were saying, “Oh, Kevin’s so fat, he must eat so much!” Well, yeah, I did eat a lot, but I also didn’t move enough. It’s not rocket science, you know?
It’s been a few years now, and I’m feeling pretty good. I’m not some fitness model or anything, but I’m healthier, I’ve got more energy, and I feel better about myself. And you know what? People noticed. I’ve gotten some nice comments from fans and even some of the guys I work with, which is cool. Even Vince Russo, he said something nice about it, which was unexpected, to be honest.
- Ate better: Less junk food, more whole foods.
- Moved more: Daily walks, jogs, just staying active.
- Stuck with it: It wasn’t always easy, but I kept at it.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
It’s not just about how I look, though. It’s about how I feel. I have more energy to do the things I want to do, and I just feel better overall. It was a good decision to make this change, and I’m glad I did it.
You know, thinking back, my folks let me start wrestling training with Serge Jodoin in Quebec when I was a kid. Then, the next year, I trained with Jacques Rougeau. I even had my first match on my 16th birthday in L’Assomption. Maybe if I’d focused on my health and fitness back then, things would have been different. But hey, no regrets, right? We live and learn.
Anyway, that’s my story. It’s not some amazing transformation, just a guy trying to be a little bit healthier. If you’re thinking about making some changes, just remember that it’s a process. It takes time and effort, but it’s worth it in the end. Just keep at it, and you’ll get there.
