Okay, so the other day, I needed to find some information about this guy, Jacob Fatu. It’s a bit of a long story, but basically, I needed to see if he had any, you know, criminal records.
I started like everyone else, I guess – I just googled his name, adding “criminal records” to the search. Honestly, I didn’t expect much, It’s pretty common to try and find someone information online with little result.
My Little Investigation
I spent more time than expected, so I try to record all my process step by step, I will get a better search result if I can optimize every detail.
- First step: Direct search. A mountain of web pages popped up, most of them were just wrestling news and fan sites. Nothing useful for what I was after.
- Digging Deeper: Then I tried adding more specific terms, like his hometown, But again, nothing concrete. Just a lot of noise. I know a search engine is just a tool and I should use it in the correct way.
- Switch it up: I went and looked at several different “people search” websites. Most of them wanted me to pay for a report, and I wasn’t about to do that without knowing if they even had anything.I am not sure if they can find the thing I want, and I do not want to waste my money.
- Getting Frustrated:To be very honest, I was beginning to think this information just wasn’t publicly available. I mean, not everything is out there on the internet, right? It’s a little annoying when I was searching for something for a long time but got nothing.
- Finally: I will try one more thing, I decided to look at some government database, and tried a little bit in some forums, and some guys told me I need to check these records myself, it seems a little complex, but I have no other choice.
So, after some time searching, I found that it is a hard way to find such private information online, It’s not as easy as TV shows make it seem!
