Oh man, you guys are not gonna believe the day I had yesterday. I’ve been following this baseball rookie, Jackson Holliday, for a while now. Kid’s got talent, you know? He was called up to the big leagues recently, and everyone’s been waiting for him to really show what he can do.
So, I started watching every game he played in. I mean, I was glued to the screen. He had a few games but, man, he was struggling. No hits. Lots of strikeouts. It was rough to watch, honestly. I started to feel bad for the guy. He is just a young blood and fresh meat in the big league, no wonder he cannot get used to the pressure.
Then came yesterday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Orioles were down by one run. It was the seventh inning, and Holliday was up to bat. I’m sitting there, fingers crossed, hoping, just hoping, this would be the moment. He stepped up to the plate, and I could see the determination in his eyes.
Then, bam! He connected with the ball. A solid hit! I jumped up, yelling at the TV like a crazy person. It was a single, but it felt like a home run, you know?
Finally get his first hit!
- He finally did it! After 13 at-bats with nothing to show, he got his first major league hit!
- The whole stadium erupted. You could feel the energy even through the screen.
- And guess what? That hit was important! It helped the Orioles eventually win the game 6-4. How about that for a comeback?
- I even saw that he asked Ryan O’Hearn a question, it looks like he was asking what his first hit was. So cute right?
I was so stoked for him. It just goes to show, you gotta keep pushing, even when things get tough. You never know when your moment will come. And for Jackson Holliday, that moment was yesterday. I’m telling you, this kid’s gonna be a star. I can’t wait to see what he does next. I recorded this game by the way, I’m gonna watch it like a million times I think!
Anyway, I just had to share that with you guys. It was such an exciting moment, and it made my whole day. Keep an eye on this Holliday kid, folks. He’s the real deal. I am not a big fan of baseball but this really impressed me, I guess I am one of his fans from now on. Go Jackson!
