Alright, so y’all wanna know about this J.D. Martinez fella’s wife, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know, the way I know how. Don’t expect no fancy words or nothin’, just plain talk.
First off, this J.D. fella, he plays that baseball game, you know, the one with the bats and the balls? Yeah, he’s pretty good at it, I hear. Folks say he hits the ball real far. Makes a lot of money doin’ it too, I bet. But that ain’t what we’re here to talk about, is it? We wanna know ’bout his missus, the woman standin’ by his side.
Now, they say her name is Kristen. Kristen Martinez. Sounds like a nice enough name, don’t it? They been together a long time, from what I hear. Been through thick and thin, they say. That’s how it should be, you know? Man and woman, stickin’ together through the good times and the bad.
I don’t know all the details, mind you. Ain’t nobody tellin’ me their secrets. But I hear she’s a real supportive woman. You know, always there for him, cheerin’ him on. That’s important, real important, when you’re out there swingin’ that bat and tryin’ to make a livin’. Gotta have somebody in your corner, you know?

They don’t talk much about her, these baseball folks. They mostly talk about J.D. and how many home runs he hit and how much money he makes. But I figure she’s a big part of his life, even if they don’t say it out loud. Behind every good man, there’s a good woman, that’s what my mama always said. And I reckon that’s true in this case too.
This J.D., he used to play for the Red Sox and the Tigers, I think. Now he’s playin’ for the Mets? Or is he? Gosh darn it, I can’t keep up with all these teams. Too many of ‘em if you ask me. Anyway, he’s been around the block, this fella. And through it all, Kristen’s been right there with him. That’s what they say, at least. And I believe it. You can tell a lot about a man by the woman he chooses, you know? And if he chose Kristen, well, she must be somethin’ special.
I hear tell that J.D. was a bit late joinin’ up with the Mets this year. Somethin’ ’bout bein’ sore all over. Guess that’s what happens when you gettin’ on in years, even if you are a fancy baseball player. Makes you appreciate that good woman at home even more, I’d wager. Somebody to rub your achin’ muscles and tell you everything’s gonna be alright.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know ’bout J.D. Martinez’s wife. She’s Kristen, she’s been with him a long time, and she’s a good woman. At least, that’s what folks say, and I ain’t got no reason to doubt it. They seem happy enough, and that’s all that matters in the end, ain’t it? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go get back to my chores. This gossipin’ is tirin’ work!
And somethin’ about this J.D. Went to some fancy school in Florida and hit the ball real good. Got drafted by some team… Astros? Yeah, that was it. Don’t matter none now, I guess. He’s a big shot now, and he’s got a good woman by his side. That’s the American dream, ain’t it? Or somethin’ like it, anyway.
So don’t go thinkin’ that just ‘cause he plays baseball and makes all that money that he’s any different from the rest of us. He’s just a man, and she’s just a woman, and they’re tryin’ to make a life together. Just like everybody else. And that’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell.
