Alright, let’s gab a bit about these tall tennis fellas, you know, the ones that look like they could touch the sky without even jumpin’. Heard some folks talkin’ ‘bout ‘em, so I figured I’d chime in with what I know, or what I think I know, anyways.
Big fellas on the court, that’s what we’re talkin’ about. Seems like there’s a couple of ‘em that are real tall, like taller than anyone I ever seen ‘round here. One fella, they call him Opelka, Reilly Opelka I think. And then there’s this other one, Karlovic, yeah, Ivo Karlovic, that’s the name. They say these two are the tallest tennis players ever, tied for the tallest, can you believe it? Both of ‘em are like seven feet tall or somethin’ crazy like that. Makes you wonder how they even bend down to tie their shoes, let alone chase after them little yellow balls.
Now, this Opelka fella, he’s been outta the game for a while, had some trouble with his hip and wrist, poor fella. Had to get ‘em fixed up, you know, like when your car breaks down and you gotta take it to the shop. But he’s back now, playin’ tennis again. Folks were happy to see him back on the court, hittin’ them balls like he never left. He even won a match, beat some other fella, showed ‘em he still got it.
Karlovic, on the other hand, he’s done with tennis now. Retired, they say. Guess he got tired of runnin’ around all day. But he played for a long time, won a bunch of matches and trophies too. Folks say he had a real fast serve, like a bullet, nobody could even see it comin’. Must’ve been somethin’ to watch, him smackin’ that ball so hard.
These two big fellas, Opelka and Karlovic, they played against each other sometimes, and against other tall fellas too. There’s this other guy, Isner, John Isner, I think. He’s tall too, not as tall as them other two, but still pretty tall. They say when Opelka and Isner played, it was like watchin’ giants battle it out. Long matches, lots of back and forth, and them balls goin’ back and forth so fast, makes your head spin just thinkin’ about it.

One time, Opelka and Isner, they played this match, and it was somethin’ else. The score was real close, back and forth, nobody could really get ahead. They played these things called tiebreaks, you know, when the score is tied and they gotta keep playin’ till somebody wins by two points. Well, these fellas, they played a real long tiebreak, the longest ever they say. Must’ve been tirin’, all that runnin’ and hittin’. But Opelka, he won that match in the end.
Another time, Opelka and Isner, they played in somethin’ called a final, that’s like the last match of a tournament, the one that decides who wins the whole thing. And Opelka, he won that one too. Beat Isner, even though Isner is his buddy, they say. Guess friendship don’t matter much on the tennis court, huh?
So yeah, these tall tennis players, they’re somethin’ special. Big fellas, strong fellas, and they can hit them balls real hard. Makes you wonder what they eat to get so big and strong. Probably lots of meat and potatoes, that’s what I reckon. And maybe some good ol’ apple pie too.
Tallest tennis players, that’s what they are. And they put on a good show, that’s for sure. Even if you don’t know nothin’ about tennis, it’s still fun to watch ‘em run around and smack them balls. Makes you feel like you’re right there with ‘em, even if you’re just sittin’ on your couch, watchin’ on the TV.
And that’s all I gotta say about these tall tennis fellas. They’re big, they’re strong, and they play some good tennis. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some dinner. All this talk about food has made me hungry.
