Alright, so listen up, y’all. I heard some stuff, you know, the kind of stuff that makes you go “hmm” like when the rooster crows at noon. It’s about that wrestling company, the one with all them muscle-bound fellas and gals, yeah, the WWE. Sounds like they’re shakin’ things up, and not in a good way for some folks.
Word on the street, or maybe it was on that internet thingy my grandkids showed me, is that they let go of another big shot. An “executive,” they call ’em. Sounds fancy, right? Like someone who wears a suit and sits at a big desk, probably tellin’ other people what to do. I tell ya, these big companies, they’re always changin’ things around. One minute you’re up, next minute you’re out like yesterday’s milk.
They say this fella, or maybe it was a lady, I don’t rightly remember, got the boot. “Let go,” they say. Sounds nicer than fired, don’t it? But it’s the same thing, ain’t it? Means you ain’t got a job no more. And this ain’t the first time neither. Seems like they been cleanin’ house ever since that merger thingy. You know, when one big company joins up with another one? Yeah, that TKO and WWE thing. Sounds like a bunch of letters to me.
- They say some fella named McMahon, he used to be the big boss, he’s gone too.
- And then there was this Laurinaitis person, they got let go too, so they say.
- And another one, Catherine Newman, she was in charge of that marketing stuff. Gone.
- And then this fella, Chris Kaiser, he was the TV guy. He’s out too.
See? It’s like a domino effect, one after the other. Makes you wonder what’s goin’ on over there. Maybe they’re runnin’ outta money? Maybe they just don’t like these folks no more? Who knows? It’s all a big mystery to me. These big companies, they do what they want, don’t they? Don’t care about the little people, that’s for sure.
And it ain’t just the big shots either. I heard they let go of a bunch of them wrestlers too. Young fellas and gals, just tryin’ to make a livin’. They call ’em NXT Superstars. Sounds important, but I guess they weren’t important enough to keep around. Ten of ’em gone, just like that. Names like Boa, and Emma, and a bunch of others I can’t even pronounce. It’s a shame, really. They work hard, trainin’ and travelin’, and then poof! No job.
And that Altman lady, she worked her way up, they said. Started at the bottom and climbed that ladder, seven different jobs in that company. And for what? To get let go in the end. Makes you think, don’t it? All that hard work, all that loyalty, and it don’t mean nothin’. They say they didn’t even give her a reason. Just “bye-bye, see ya later.” That ain’t right, I tell ya. Everybody deserves a reason.
This whole thing reminds me of that time when old man Johnson’s farm got sold. He worked that land his whole life, and then some big company came in and bought it out from under him. He was out on the street, just like that. It’s the same story, different faces. The big guys always win, and the little guys always get the short end of the stick. That’s just the way the world works, I guess. But it still makes me mad.
Anyway, that’s the news I heard. WWE lettin’ people go, shakin’ things up. Maybe they know what they’re doin’, maybe they don’t. Time will tell, I reckon. But one thing’s for sure, it’s a tough world out there, and you gotta watch your back. ‘Cause you never know when your turn’s gonna come. And that’s the truth, y’all, as plain as the nose on your face.
WWE‘s goin’ through some changes, and seems like nobody’s safe. From the top dogs to the folks just startin’ out, they’re all gettin’ the ax. It’s a dog-eat-dog world, and WWE ain’t no different. So next time you watch them fellas wrasslin’ on TV, remember there’s a whole lotta stuff goin’ on behind the scenes, and it ain’t always pretty. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
